Amwa was discharged from the hospital that day, and Julie handled the procedures.
As for Christian, Amaya claimed they’d had another fight, and he’d gone missing.
Julie was speechless but refrained from commenting
After leaving the hospital, Amaya suggested they go shopping to pick up some daily essentials.
The two of them headed straight to the supermarket, and after buying everything on the list, they grabbed a cab to Julie’s apartment
Amaya sat in the living room and scanned the compact space. She glanced toward Julie, who was busy rinsing vegetables in the kitchen. “Your place is way too cramped, Jules. You can’t even fit more than two people in here”
Julie rinsed the vegetables as she replied, “I think it’s time. Besides, it’s close to the companies I’ve been applying to ”
“You’ve started job hunting
Julie nodded. “Yeah, but I haven’t landed anything yet”

Julie froze. “Why the sudden urge to start a business?
“My dad doesn’t think I’m capable, and I want to prove him wrong.”
Julie frowned. “That’s it?”
Amuya nodded without a second thought. “Yeah. I want to achieve something big to show my dad.”
Julie sighed. “You can try, but I’m not joining“!
“Why not? Let’s do it together”
“I don’t have the funds for it,” Julie remarked somewhat helplessly.
“That’s no big deal. I’ll handle the funds, and you bring the brains. We‘ start small and grow big
Julie gave her a skeptical look. “Starting a business isn’t as easy as you think, miss heiress. I’ll pass.”
Amaya grabbed her arm desperately. “How do you know if you don’t even give it a shot? Jules, please.”
Julie let out a heavy sigh and turned to face her “What kind of business are you thinking about?
Amaya’s eyes lit up. “So you’ve agreed?”
Julie didn’t bother denying it. “Tell me your plan.” She was open to the idea if the project was viable, but she wasn’t about to let Amaya shoulder all the costs while she contributed nothing financially
Amaya gave an awkward Laugh. “Well, 1 just got out of the hospital and haven’t done much research yet.”
Julie rolled her eyes at that “So, you’re suggesting this with zero preparation?”
“Of course not. I’ll base it on our expertise. A business aligned with our major will have a higher chance of success.
Julie exhaled deeply. “Alright, let me think of a direction. We’ll discuss it further once I’ve got something in mind.”
Amaya immediately threw her arms around Julie in excitement. “Thank you, sweetheart. You’re the best!”
Just after she spoke, her phone buzzed from where she’d left it on the coffee table. She walked over to check the screen and saw that it was from Christian.
She hesitated briefly before answering “Hello, Christian”
“Where are you, Amaya?” Judging from the noise in the background, it wasn’t hard to guess what he was up to.
Amaya leaned against the couch and spoke lazily, “I’m at a friend’s place after getting discharged. Why?
“What? You got discharged without letting me pick you up..”
Amaya cut him off before he could finish, “I texted you about it. Didn’t you see?”

pause on the other end, and before he could respond, a crisp female voice sounded from his side. “Come play with us, Christian! Stop being on the phone!” Amaya didn’t say another word and immediately ended the call.
When julle brought the freshly rinsed vegetables to the living room, she noticed something off about her mood. She sat down beside her and asked, “What’s wrong? You don’t look too happy.”
Amaya stretched her arms. “No way. If you’re not upset, there’s no way I’d be.‘
