Chapter 43
Tara stopped in her tracks again as she felt the warmth of Soren’s hand on her right arm. Although her sleeve was in the way, she still couldn’t help blushing a little. Tarried to get out of his grip, but she couldn’t do it at all.
“Mr. Fartell?” she looked at him in confusion. She was wondering if he had any other questions for her. However, since she was just a housekeeper, she wouldn’t know much at all.
Then, Soren asked in a solemn voice, “Do you always stand behind Shawri like you did previously?”
At first, Tara didn’t understand what he was asking. After a while, she realized he was referring to how she stood behind Shawn when she took care of his meals. She thought Soren asked her that because he wanted to wam her not to get too close to his friends.
She figured it was the same reason why Jonah asked her and Jasper the question the other day and why they were all worried about her wanting to seduce Soren and
the rest.
Tara could feel the hand on her right arm tightening, and it was starting to hurt a little. So, she thought Soren was really worried about his friends and about her ruining their reputation.
“That’s because Mr. Wilheim and Mr. Pearson didn’t have a housekeeper assigned to stand behind them. Since Mr. Pearson didn’t like how I stood behind him, I couldn’t do that anymore. That was why I chose to stand behind Mr. Wilhelm instead.”
She was telling Soren the truth, and she didn’t have any ulterior motives toward him or the others at all. However, he still held her arm, and he was the only one who knew the reason why. Was he unwilling to see her go, or was he afraid of her leaving him?
After hearing what she had said, he stared at her for a long time. Tara couldn’t tell if he believed her or not
“Do you really have no other intentions?”
In order to make him stop worrying, she promised, “Mr. Farrell, I have no evil intentions toward you or your friends, so don’t worry about it. Now, I just want to do my job well so that the incident from before won’t happen again.”
She thought he would finally relax after bearing what she said. After all, she looked serious when she spoke, and it didn’t look like she was giving him a perfunctory
Soren’s expression shifted subtly, and Soren let go of Tara’s arm after hearing what she said. It seemed as it he was upset by some of the things she mentioned arlier. However, he didn’t say anything and just watched as Tara left with the cart.
Before she left, she noticed that Soren looked more solemn and disappointed than earlier. So, she thought he still didn’t believe her. However, it didn’t matter to lier ammore. Since she had spoken her mind, she figured he could think whatever he wanted.
Stella was waiting for Tara outside the elevator. After her lesson from an hour ago, she wouldn’t let Tara have the chance to get close to Lance or Jonah anymore. The wheels on the cart rolled softly, and when Tara finally reached the elevator, she completely ignored Stella. Since Stella just wanted to get her into trouble, she couldn’t do anything about it at the moment. However, that didn’t mean Tara would try to be nice to Stella at all.
When the elevator doors opened, Tara pushed the cart inside, stella had already moved her cart back to the first floor, So, she just alertly kept her eyes on Tara, who was now inside the elevator
However, Tata didn’t spare her a glance at all. After the doors closed, they were no lon
no longer in each other’s line of sight.
After Tara pushed the cart back to the kitchen, someone else was in charge of cleaning the tableware. So, Tara could finally grab some food.
Meanwhile, Stella was still by the elevator on the second floor. It had been a short while since Tara had left. Now, Stella was finally ready to head downstairs as well. When the elevator doors opened, someone suddenly rushed out of the elevator. It was the driver who brought Stella back to the villa yesterday.
