Chapter 38
Hearing this, Anthony beamed with joy. “Great, great! Pay is almost fully recovered. We’ve been waiting for you, speaking of which, we really owe you a lot.”
Kyle chuckled softly and nodded before pushing open the hospital room door.
Faith’s injuries had mostly healed, though she still appeared somewhat frail. Her complexion was slightly pale, but it added a delicate beauty to her, the kind that stirred a strong protective instinct in anyone who saw her.
“Kyle, you’re here!TM
The moment Faith saw him, her face lit up with a blissful smile. Her eyes were filled with love.
Kyle nodded and gently brushed aside a stray lock of hair from her forehead. The simple gesture made Faith’s heart race, and a soft blush crept across her cheeks. “Staying cooped up in the hospital room all day must be boring. How about I take you out for some fresh air? Would you like that?”
“As long as I can be with you, I’d like anything,” Faith replied, her voice brimming with affection.
The unmistakable tenderness between them made Anthony, standing nearby, clear his throat awkwardly.
“Uh, Mr. Archer,” Anthony interjected, “We’re preparing an outfit for Faith. Perhaps you could change into something a bit more fitting for the occasion as well? It might look better that way.”
Of course, Anthony wouldn’t dare directly criticize Kyle’s casual attire. This was simply his way of suggesting Kyle change into something more appropriate. After all, appearances mattered when stepping our in public.
Kyle, however, waved it off with a light chocde. “It’s just a banquet. No need for anything fancy. Focus on Fay’s outfit instead.”
Faith agreed, her preferences leaning toward simplicity. “Dad, Mom, just a simple gown will do. I’m not fond of anything overly elaborate. Simple is best.”
Hearing this, Anthony had no choice but to nod. As long as Faith’s look pleased Kyle, the specifics didn’t matter
At that moment, Kyle pulled out a small jewelry box. “Here, a gift for you.”
Faith’s face lit up with excitement at the mention of a gift from Kyle. Her joy was evident. “Is this really for me?”
“Open it and see,” Kyle replied with a gentle smile, ruffling her hair lightly.
Faith’s cheeks tumed an even deeper shade of red. “If it’s from you, I’ll love it no matter what. And if you picked it, I’m sure it’s beautiful.”
As she opened the jewelry box, a dazzling light nearly blinded everyone in the room. The plece, named Snow White Love, was beyond description in its beauty.
“Oh my goodness! This must be expensive. I can’t accept it! Faith exclaimed, though her reluctance was laced with visible admiration.
She was instantly captivated by the brilliance of Snow White Love, but she knew such an exquisite piece couldn’t possibly be ordinary.
Even Anthony and Maria, standing nearby, were left speechless. Their jaws dropped at the sight of the jewelry, its value unmistakable. Kyle had clearly spared no
expense.
“It’s not expensive. What matters is that you lilor it,” Kyle said with a smile. “And besides, this is the first gift I’m giving you. bad, don’t you think?”
If you reject it, that’d make me look
Kyle’s words were calm, but they carried undeniable warmth. “Remember when you risked your life just to deliver a card to me? I didn’t tum you down back then, did th
1, really. My mentor has incredible craftsmanship, which is why it
As he spoke, be carefully took out one of the pieces and placed it on Faith. “It’s not worth much, looks so refined. It’s nothing extraordinary.
“And it even has a name–Love for Faith. Look, doesn’t it seem like it was made just for you? If you don’t accept it, wouldn’t that be unfair to the name?”
Kyle’s tone was light, clearly trying to ease Faith’s discomfort.
Faith, of course, wasn’t fooled, she knew there was no way the jewelry had such a name to begin with
But she was deeply moved, knowing Kyle had said all this simply to convince her to accept the gift.
“And besides,” Kyle added with a grin, “If it were truly valuable, would I be casually carrying it around in my pocket? I’m not even worried about someone stealing it. Don’t you think that says something*
His straightforward words and the sincerity in his tone left Faith
Faith no room for doubt.
“Most importantly,” Kyle continued, “isn’t my gesture more precious than the gift itself?”
Their eyes met, and Faith felt her emotions swell. Teats of happiness threatened to spill as her heart brimmed with sweetness.
