Chapter 8
Jasmine’s POV
“Jas, please give me another chance. Let’s start over.” He begged softly, tears running down his face.
I chuckled bitterly. “Another chance? So that you can hurt me again? So that when Mira calls you‘ ll abandon me, as usual? No, I don’t think so.”
“No!” He yelled, shaking his head desperately. “No, I swear to you, Jas. You’ll be my only priority. You’ll come first in everything. Please, I’ll never hurt you again. Don’t leave me, Jas.”
It was funny, how all these while he had acted like I never mattered, like he could. do without me. But now, here he was begging and crying for another chance, after squandering his first chance.
I tilted my head thoughtfully. “You know what, let’s make a deal,” I stated, and his

eyes brightened with hope. “I don‘ t want you to see, talk, contact or have anything to do with Mira for a month. If you
successfully do this, I’ll take back the rejection. If you fail, you have to accept the rejection no matter what.”
He quickly nodded his head eagerly, quickly accepting the deal. I almost
scoffed. He was so confident that he could
succeed, because it seemed simple. However, I knew Liam very well, and I
knew how attached he was to Mira. He wouldn’t last that long without seeing her.
So I wasn’t worried. I would still leave
him no matter the outcome, but I just wanted to prove a point.
Over the couple of days, Liam was doing very well. He was back to the old Liam, the Liam before Mira. He was always by my side, always making sure I was okay. He was trying so hard to prove himself; it was almost painful to watch. Mira called and texted incessantly, but Liam ignored them

all. He deleted all her messages without even opening them. Mira was so shameless. that even with that, she still kept calling and texting repeatedly. All of Liam’s actions didn’t move me, he made them obvious so that I would notice, but I pretended like I didn’t. I could see however that he was getting restless that he hadn’t seen Mira for so long
One night, I pretended to go to bed very early, and as usual his phone started ringing incessantly. At first, he would groan in frustration and disconnect the call, but after a while, he paused, and finally, he picked the call.
“Hey Mira,” He murmured gently, hurrying into the bathroom.
After five minutes he stepped out, and came to lie beside me, humming softly in satisfaction.
I had to control myself from smirking. He really couldn’t help himself. I continued like this for a few days, and he kept

sneaking into the bathroom when he thought I was asleep, to talk to Mira.
“Hey, how are you coping with HIM?” Kate greeted, from the other side of the phone.
I shrugged, momentarily forgetting that she couldn’t see me.
“It’s uncomfortable, but I have a point to prove.” I replied, and she chuckled lightly.
“I have news for you. I’ll send you a couple of pictures and call you back.” She said. She sounded giddy.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. That was odd.
However, when I saw the pictures I finally understood. I released a hysterical laughter as I stared at a picture of Liam’s precious Mira. She was passionately kissing a member of the pack. As I scrolled the pictures, it was then I noticed that she was also kissing other men.

“Her mate was never murdered by rogues,” Kate revealed, “She was banished from her pack because she kept
cheating on her mate who was the alpha of the pack.
“”
I shook my head in amusement. “Oh, I can’t wait to see Liam’s face when he finds out all the truth about his beloved, Mira.”
“Umm, Jas.” Liam called softly. I pretended not to have heard him and continued sleeping.
He called again, “Jas? Please wake up.” He called again, but I kept pretending to sleep.
“She’s sleeping,” He murmured to someone on the phone, “I’m coming now, but remember that I can’t stay long or she will get suspicious.”
It must be Mira.
