Chapter 4
Jasmine’s POV
“We’re so sorry; Luna Jasmine, but the baby didn’t make it.”
I stared blankly at the wall across me. I thought I would lose it – crying, yelling and begging, however, all I felt was a sort of calmness and clarity. I thought I would feel emptiness at the loss of my child, but all I felt was relief. My child did not deserve to be born into a loveless and deceitful home, a home of lies and distrust. The loss of the baby was probably for the best.
I glanced at the phone beside me. Liam hadn’t called me or texted me. I didn’t feel any pain or hurt at that, just…

Liam together, naked on the bed in the morning. Liam was sleeping with a peaceful expression on his face. Under the picture was a short caption: Isn‘ t he your
mate?
There was no use trying to guess who sent it. She was taunting me. She thought I cared. I might have cared about it before, but now I could see clearly. I was not going to pretend to be a happy Luna with a mate who betrayed me and cheated on me.

I saw
Just as I stepped out of the room, Liam rushing down the hallway with a frantic look on his face, and following behind him was Mira.
His eyes were red as he approached me.
“Oh Jas, I heard.” he exclaimed, reaching out to hug me.
I quickly stepped back, and lifted my hand to stop him. “Don’t even dare,” I said coldly, with an icy glare.
He stopped, furrowing his eyebrows in hurt. “Come on, Jas. I’m sorry I wasn’t there. I’m really sorry that you lost the baby. But we will try again, Jas.” He said

Rage surged through my veins at his words. How dare he make it sound like my fault?
“I lost the baby?” I growled, “I lost the baby?!” I shrieked in fury.
