Chapter 34

Spencer’s POV…

Right after Benedetta left after our spiteful argument, my phone started bombarding with calls and messages from my father. The formal Alpha.

I intentionally ignored each of his calls since I know that the news of the contract has already reached him. TL company has announced the results of the meeting and sent congratulatory emails to each company for collaboration. So it’s not like I could hide it from my father.

“She asks to run a DNA test on previous Luna’s previous kids. She said if you don’t want to do it, she would personally do it!”

She was lively and agile. She started talking like she was the bird that was free forever. She looked adorable but free, out of my reach.

One day, she found out my biggest secret. She caught me doing something that was forbidden for me.

She didn’t say anything on that day. She stayed until the fallen afternoon. Her beautiful curly hair covered half of her face.

She looked ethereal and dreamy.

She praised me and told me that I was the one who would decide my own destiny. And I thought how nice it would be if I could join her. The world where I didn’t have to bury my desire and happiness.

I wanted to. I wanted to break the cage. But it was stupid.

She introduced herself as Rogue and I hated them.

The moment she introduced herself, there was a hint of disgust and fear too. I couldn’t afford to lose my star who would show me the way to get my freedom.

But it wasn’t until I found my father who I used to think of as my role model, lying on the bed with lots of wounds.

My star was beautiful and warm. She couldn’t hurt anyone. But I was lost. It was before me, the evidence.

I slowly lost my patience and trust in her.

It was too much to bear but it was honestly happening before me. And till now, I still don’t know why she did that.

‘Alpha! There is a commotion here!”

Leon’s words bring me back to my senses when the door of the 8th floor opens. I have some clients to meet here.

But when Leon points to the direction of the Spa, I can’t frown.

“How dare you ignore the allergic instructions I gave you!” A woman yells at her employee.

She is holding Bryan and Scarlet in her arms and rushing towards the Infirmary. Bryan’s face is swollen and Scarlet is having an asthma attack.

“Leon! Take out my EpiPen! Right now!”

Unexpectedly, I couldn’t ignore my own children’s health issues. The symptoms of Bryan’s allergy is from apricot. I’m severely allergic to Apricots. Scarlet’s symptoms are from cashew. That’s Benedetta. Benedetta loves cashews but she can’t digest them or get touched by them. It seems like both kids had skinship with them.

“Benedetta!” I called her name, unable to hold myself. She looks mortified and on the verge of tears.

“Spencer!” The tears she has been holding back, finally flow through her face,

“Do–Do you have an EpiPen? They were connected to Apricot and Cashew. I don’t know how this can happen. Please.. Help!” She bursts into tears while walking fast towards the infirmary. “I always keep their EpiPen just for any emergency but… I forgot to!”

I have! Let me carry Scarlet. She is having an asthma attack!”

She didn’t resist this time, giving Scarlet to me, she grabs the cold towel from a woman she called Miss Sheila and starts wiping Bryan’s body.

I am sorry. I checked things twice before supplying them into the kids section. We don’t use that product for kids at all. We will investigate the situation and let you decide how you will punish us for everything. We are sincerely sorry for everything!” Sheila keeps apologizing and passing Benedetta the cold towel.

Leon helps them with my EpiPen. Thankfully I carry it everywhere. After all, there are hundreds of people who are ready to kill us, anyway possible.

“Are you feeling better?” I ask Scarlet who opens her eyes. Her eyes are red–rimmed and some rashes are still on her neck.
