Benedetta chuckles quietly as she accidentally steps on Diego’s foot. They both share a laugh, lightening the moment.
However, two pairs of eyes watch them with intensity-one with tears welling up, the other filled with a mix of anger and sadness.
“You know people will think that we’re a real couple, lol,” Benedetta said, swaying to the rhythm.
“Aren’t we?” Diego asked with a teasing smile.
“Nice joke though. When are you heading home? I’m sure your mother is furious. Also, I’m really looking forward to meeting your Omega soon. She must be so pretty!”
Diego’s smile slowly fades, though he masks his disappointment. There is no way he would let her meet that woman. He just loves Benedetta. Nothing is going to change.
He smiles faintly and holds her by the waist. With full admiration in his eyes, he slides his arm by her waist, almost colliding their body.
“Let’s concentrate on the dance first. We sh—”
His words are cut off when Spencer abruptly snatches Benedetta’s arm and begins dragging her away.
“Spencer! What are you doing?” Benedetta almost shouted. Her voice tings with shock as she sees the fury in his eyes.
“Hey! What are you doing?” Diego rushs after them, struggling to comprehend the situation unfolding before him. He has no idea that Spencer would be shameless enough to come to her. Not when he has his woman already.
Olivia, Killian, and others are too shocked to speak. Spencer’s aura is surging, creating an invisible barrier that makes everyone, including Diego, hesitant to approach.
“Alpha Spencer! Don’t you dare touch my fiancée. Let her-” Diego begins, his voice firm but cut short.
“Who are you calling your fiancée? Diego?” Evelyn’s voice is cold and cutting.
An Omega in her mid-twenties, Evelyn stands before Diego, her mate and her fiancé.
Her eyes blaze with fury and sadness. Her cheeks are flushed red, a testament to her emotional turmoil.
“Evelyn?” Diego whispers, his eyes widening in recognition.
“So you remember my name at least!” Evelyn shots back, her tone sharp.
“What are you doing here?” Diego asks, his voice laced with irritation.
“To see my mate, who’s creating a second family behind my back!” Evelyn replies, clenching her jaw in anger.
“I don’t care. You should leave now!” Diego commands, his voice firm.
Evelyn scoffs, her gaze sweeping over her Alpha, who has left the responsibilities of his Pack to her after acknowledging her as his mate but never truly recognizing their bond.
“Sorry for disappointing you, my Alpha! I’m staying here as a birthday gift from your mother. So you don’t have any right to kick out the Luna of yours, do you?” she said, a smirk curling at the corners of her lips.
“I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I’m not playing this game with you. Stay away from me. Don’t show me your face!*

Diego says, his frustration eyident as he turns and rushes toward the direction where Benedetta has been dragged away.
Evelyn chews her bottom lip as she watches Diego leave, her years of waiting weighing heavily on her. It seems she may have to give up soon.
“My Luna!” Jeremy approaches Evelyn with a somber expression.
“Alpha is being blind. The woman with him has no lingering feelings for him!”
Hearing his words, Evelyn looks at her Alpha’s personal Beta. Her eyebrow slightly raises when he speaks.
“What about the rumors about the kids? Are they his?” Evelyn asks calmly, following Jeremy with graceful steps.
“No, the children are from her previous marriage. Diego has been stepping in to raise them as a father, though they’re not his biological children,” Jeremy explains, his voice soft. An attempt to make her feel better about them.
“What about the woman he’s with?” Evelyn inquires,
“She’s the daughter of the Lycan King. The former Luna is friends with him, which explains their connection. However, it’s clear she has no genuine feelings for Diego,” Jeremy replied.
“Then why hasn’t she told him to stay away? Why is she allowing him to act as a father to her children when he obviously isn’t?” Evelyn’s frustration spilled over, and her eyes filled with tears. The pain she had been holding back surged forth, breaking the dam of her stoic facade.
“I apologize,” Jeremy said quietly, his tone filled with empathy.
“You don’t have to,” Evelyn said, wiping away her tears with a resolute expression. She took a deep breath, her chest rising and falling as she composed herself. “He will have to answer for everything, sooner or later. I need to arrange a meeting with that woman.”
“Yes, my Luna,” Jeremy responded, his voice tinged with respect and support as he prepared to assist her.

Benedetta hissed in pain as Spencer pushed her against the wall, hiding them both behind the curtains. His hand reached for her cheek as he grunted furiously.
“What-what do you think you are doing?” Benedetta spat, trying to push him away. But as an Omega, her strength was nothing compared to his.

She shoves him away, her jaw clenched in anger. “I have already sent the divorce papers!” she retorts.
“Hah! The divorce you drafted five years ago? It’s not valid anymore,” Spencer scoffs, a bitter smile playing on his lips.

Before she could finish her sentence, his lips forcefully claimed hers, nibbling on her bottom lip. His one hand is cupping her face and the other has reached those exact places where Diego touched.
She feels weak under his touch, the familiar scent around him making it hard for her to resist. The wolf within her screams in joy at the reunion with her mate.
But Benedetta’s fury burns strong. She can’t forgive or forget the man who has abandoned her for another woman. The thought disgusts her. The touches disgust her. The moment the thought of him touching another woman with those same hands crosses her mind, it makes her feel more disgusted.
