Chapter 136 This One’s on Me
Sylvia Grant said she would do a big shopping spree, and she truly meant it, acting as if she was about to clear out the whole supermarket.
Most of the items she liked were drinks.
Curtis Hart watched as she swept through the shelves, loading various brands of drinks into the shopping cart.
If she hadn’t discarded some and kept complaining about how awful the ones she didn’t choose were, Curtis might have thought she was restocking for a store.
With the cart full of drinks, Sylvia looked at Curtis and said, “Mr. Hart, could you grab another cart for me?”
Curtis didn’t hesitate and went to get another cart.
When he returned, he found Sylvia

snacks section, holding four or
five bags of chips and shrimp crackers. She smiled at him as he approached.
In that moment, Curtis felt a strange sensation, as if his heart had been struck.
Sylvia couldn’t wait for him to get closer and ran over to put the chips and shrimp crackers into the cart.
“I thought pretty women like you didn’t like eating these kinds of things,” Curtis remarked, referring to the common struggle of maintaining a good figure.
CM
His company’s actors, both male and female, were strict about their diets.
Some were naturally thin, but those prone to gaining weight couldn’t even think about snacking.
Sylvia put her hands on her hips and looked at Curtis proudly. “Mr. Hart, do you think my figure isn’t good enough? I think it’s perfect!”
Hearing this, Curtis looked Sylvia up and down,
As she said, her figure was indeed perfect.

She wasn’t the type who was overly thin with prominent bones.

Her body was balanced–one more pound would make her too heavy, one less would make her too light.
She had the right amount of curves in all the right places.
Especially in the red dress she wore today, her curves were highlighted beautifully.
Curtis noticed her waist was incredibly slender, perfectly graspable.
His fingers twitched slightly, as a new thought crossed his mind.
Curtis quickly pushed the thought away.
Such a dirty thought was inappropriate.
Sylvia didn’t miss the desire flickering in Curtis’s eyes, and her eyes sparkled mischievously.
Men were so easy to figure out.
Sylvia continued picking out her favorite snacks without holding back.
Curtis originally thought they’d just buy some drinks for the road.
He didn’t expect Sylvia to go on a full shopping spree.
When they pushed two carts full of items to the checkout, the cashier was stunned.
Especially the cart full of drinks–it was massive and incredibly heavy.
Sylvia didn’t make Curtis carry everything.
She hired two staff members, paid them a tip, and then got into the car with satisfaction.
Curtis said, “I almost lost my dignity in front of you.”
Sylvia laughed, “Mr. Hart, you should know, dignity is the last thing I care about.”
Curtis said nothing more. For men, dignity always was the most important.

If Sylvia had made him carry all those items, he might have ended up sweating profusely.
Sylvia opened a bottle of tea and handed it to Curtis. “Mr. Hart, thank you for not stopping me. This one’s on me.”
Curtis almost laughed at how absurd her words were.
He paid, he carried, and now she was thanking him?
He looked at Sylvia and said, “Thank you.”
He took a sip and frowned slightly.
As he expected, despite being tea, it was full of sugar–too sweet for his taste.
He didn’t like such sugary drinks but knew Sylvia did. Every drink in the cart was to her
taste.
He wouldn’t criticize her choices.
Putting the cap back on, Curtis set the drink aside and started the car.
Sylvia didn’t know where the film studio was.
At first, she chatted with Curtis, then opened a bag of shrimp crackers and started eating.
Occasionally, Curtis glanced at her, and she would generously offer him a piece.

Curtis did two things today he almost never did–eat snacks and drink sugary drinks.
Men in the Hart family never liked such things.
Though he didn’t enjoy the sugary tea, he had to admit the shrimp crackers were pretty good.
So much so that when he heard Sylvia rummaging through the bag, he asked, “Is that the last one?”
Sylvia replied, “Yes, it’s gone. I should’ve bought more. Usually, one bag is just right for me. Sharing with you, I didn’t get enough.”
Curtis felt a few drops of sweat form on his forehead.

So, it was his fault now?
Without thinking, he said, “We can buy more on the way back.”
Sylvia laughed, “Mr. Hart, I didn’t expect you to like this stuff.”

Curtis didn’t reply. He didn’t want to tell her it was his first time eating such snacks.
Sylvia reached back to grab another bag of chips, trying to ease her craving.
But she grabbed one she didn’t particularly like, pouted, and put it back.
She looked out the window, hoping to find another supermarket to buy more snacks.
However, much to Sylvia’s disappointment, they got on the highway without passing another supermarket.
Sylvia sighed. It seemed she’d have to work today with a bit of regret.
