they were done getting changed, Elis took her out. Unlike the dim and dull staff access area, the corridor behind the door was bright and luxurious. Even the air was filled with extravagance.
Tiffany was there for the first time, so she was extremely nervous. She like thrilled, like a kid going to an internet cafe to play games behind his parents‘ back.
When they were in front of a room, Elis knocked on the door and reminded Tiffany, “Be smart and sweet later. Just take the tips given by the customers, don’t be shy.”
Tiffany listened carefully and nodded as she memorized them. Despite being mentally prepared, she still became nervous the moment the door was opened.
She lowered her head and dared not to look at anyone. She just followed Ells everywhere for fear of being abandoned.
“Mimosa?” A voice rang out above Tiffany’s head, with a hint of doubt and tease.
Tiffany was stunned and saw Charles‘ smiling face upon looking up.
“It’s really you?” Charles seemed excited to see her. Without waiting for Tiffany to respond, he turned to the other side and said, “Vince, this waitress looks like Mimosa.”
Hearing this, Tiffany froze on the spot. She turned her head stiffly and and followed Charles‘ gaze. Indeed, there he was. Vincent.
The moment their eyes met, Tiffany felt dread creep into her.
How did it feel to be caught red–handed while doing a part–time job behind her boss‘ back?
It was dreadful.
“Hey.” Charles tugged at her sleeve. “I’m talking to you. Why didn’t you respond? Aren’t you an employee of Lewis Group? Why are you here… and working as a waitress?
“Don’t you know that Lewis Group has a rule that regular employees can’t work part–time?”
Tiffany’s heart skipped a bit. She had been so eager to find a part–time job and make a few bucks that she had completely forgotten about that rule.
She only realized that she had made a big mistake after Charles‘ reminder.
She lowered her head and mumbled, “You’ve got the wrong person. I’m Ava.”
Charles raised his eyebrows and looked at Vincent.
Vincent only glanced past Tiffany and said lightly, “She does look a little like her.”
He had indirectly denied that she was Tiffany.
“You’re right. She looks different when I look closer,” Charles kept staring at Tiffany. He tapped the table with his fingers. “Come and pour me a glass of wine.”
Tiffany walked over silently, lifted the wine bottle, and poured him a full glass of wine.
Charles looked at the wine in his glass and complained, “I’m not good at drinking. Are you trying to get me drunk by pouring me so much wine?”
Tiffany did not reply.
She was inexperienced, and it was her first time working as a waitress. She was at a loss in this kind of

situation.
“Mr. Stewart.” Elis walked over and put her lean arm around Charles‘ shoulders. Her fragile body leaned weakly against him as she clinked her glass with his, making a loud, crisp sound.
“I remember you’re rather good at drinking. Why are you so humble today? Let me drink with you.”
Then, she took the wine glass and stuffed it into Charles‘ hand. “Let’s go one–shot. I’ll drink first, and you know what to do.”
She gulped down the liquor.
Charles gazed at Elis’s fair, slender neck and narrowed his eyes. “Alright, I’ll drink with
you.”
