I question him, and my grip on his finger tightens. He groans in pain, and I’m sure I’ve broken his finger when I hear a crack. “OH, DARNI” he yells.
John separates us, and he goes to check the damage to his finger. Im on the brink of exploding, and that wouldn’t be good at all.
“William…” my friend calls me, and I look at him. “Let’s talk later, okay?”
I didn’t say anything. I just poured myself another glass of whiskey.

I motion to go toward him again, and John steps in front of me, preventing me.
“Oliver, please leave. Don’t make things worse. I’ll talk to William, and we’ll call you to answer,” my friend says patiently. I don’t know where he finds so much patience. That’s why our partnership has always worked. I’m the hurricane, and he’s the calm.
