I keep thinking about how Julia must be feeling with Angeline’s presence here. But nothing I say or do will make this woman leave, and I can’t just drag her out by her hair.
This is a mess.
I try to get up, but Angeline holds my arm, making me sigh in frustration. I give her one of my stern looks.
“You’re nesting, love, Where were you going?” she asks.
I love it when Julia worries about me, but I hate it when Angeline does
“I was going to get some water.” I try to get up again, and she keeps holding my am. I wanted to go to the bitchen and talk to Julia.
“get it for you” She stands up and goes back to the kitchen.
1 impatiently huffed, running my hands through my hair nervously. I’m so irritated!
Not long after, Angeline returns with a glass of water. I quickly drank the water when all I wanted was to explode and curse her out.
I slump back on the couch, tired and frustrated with this situation.
Furthermore, I watched Julia approach me with a tray in her hands. She smiles when our eyes meet, and I feel a bit relieved that she’s not as furious with me as I thought she’d be…
“It’s time for your medication,” she informs, placing the tray on the coffee table in the center of the living room. Julia picks up the medicine along with a glass of water. “Here,” she says, handing me the medicine.
can’t stand her
I take the medicine from her hand, place it in my mouth, and swallow it with the water. Without saying anything, Julia takes the tray again and leaves the room heading to the kitchen. Instantly, I miss her.
“You don’t even hide it,” Angeline says, getting my attention. “I don’t know how the fool John hasn’t figured it out yet.”
I take a deep breath so as not to lose my head.
3.2.1
First, don’t talk about my friend like that. Second, if you open your mouth to anyone…
I can’t finish talking because I get interrupted.
“Are you threatening me?” she asks. “How low have you stooped? Because of a girl, William?”
She’s not just any girl.
She’s my girl
But Angeline would never understand. And I don’t care if she does. Nobody needs to understand except Julia and me.
The doorbell at my house rings.
Angeline doesn’t even move to understand, that since she’s here, she could do something to help, right? I try to get up to answer it, but I see Julia heading for the door with a napkin in her hands. She opens the door, and I see my friend and his family, Julia smiles and greets her parents.
I’m home,” John says when he sees me, and he grimaces when
sees Angeline.
“Dad. I’m making your favorite cake,” Julia says to her father, catching his eye. He looks at her with affection. And needless to say, I’m charmed too, looking at that sweet girl who stole my heart.
“How did you
know I was coming?”
“I know you come every day to check on William, and even worse, you come to see if he’s taking good care of me when I should be taking care of him,” she making me smile. I’m really in love with this woman.
‘Daughter, have you been crying?” Ava asks her daughter. I stare at Julia, noticing that her eyes are a little rod.
e says.
“Me?” she pretends not to understand. “Of course not, Mom,” she denied, but I didn’t believe her. “I’m going to check on the cake!” she says, changing the subject and quickly leaving the room. Ava wasn’t convinced either and followed her daughter.
“How’s my godson?” John asks Angeline, and I look at him with indignation.
What godson?
“Well,” the smiles, stroking her belly, “my dad wants to talk to William to formalize our relationship.”
“What relationship, Angeline?” I asked rudely. My friend and his son, who were in the room, looked at me, surprised by my tone.
“We’re having a baby,” she says clumsily,
“Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean I’m going to marry you, I replied angrily. Jolyn looks at me disapprovingly, but I don’t care.
If this child is mine, I will take care of her, love her, and protect her. But I will not marry Angeline. Especially now, when I’m in love with someone else
“Our family has rules, and you know very well that just being pregnant without being married will already be controversial in the media. Can you imagine how they’re going to talk about me?” she asks, creating drama.
ve all knows
“You should have thought of that before you slept with me,” 1 said without thinking. But damn, won’t work. I’ll never be able to make her happy, and vice versa, because I love someone else.
n, I’d had enough of her. She keeps insisting on something we
she tries to say something, but I cut her off.
If the child is mine, I’ll take responsibility. But don’t push marriage on me, because that’s not going to happen I’m honest. “I’m in love with someone else, and I’m not going to throw away my happiness because of you.”
I can’t stand her.
Everyone looks at me in shock over my declaration.
She stands up angrily.
“Does John know who you’re in love with?” she asks ironically. I struggle to stand up, face her, and look her in the eye. She realizes that if she opens her mouth things will not go well for her. I would stop the lies now and tell the truth no matter what, but I have to respect Julia’s wishes.
“Calm down,” says John as he
she comes in between us, trying to ease the tense atmosphere.
“I’m leaving,” she says, forcing back tears. “You know, John, I’ve never been so humiliated.” She sobs. “I just want my child to grow up with both parents.”
She didn’t wait for answers and practically ran out of my house. I was grateful for that. I couldn’t stand to look at her face anymore.
Likewise, I sat back down on the couch, and John gave me a stern look. Great, now he’s going to start an endless rant.
With the noise Angeline made as she slammed the door, Julia and her mother came to see if anything was wrong.
“What the hell is your problem?” exclaimed John angrily.
“What happened, Dad?” asked Julia, not understanding why John was so furious. He wants to strangle me now. And maybe she thinks I told her the truth.
“John,” I try to say, but I am interrupted.
“William, we’ve been friends for so long, my God, you’re almost like a brother to me. Or rather, you are my brother at heart. As your friend, I have the right to advise you and tell you when you are right or wrong. And right now, you are extremely wrong!” he says.
“I can’t stand her,” I confess.
“But she’s pregnant with your child!” he points at me. I open my mouth to argue that I don’t even know if the child is mine, but he won’t let me speak. He holds up his hand for me to keep him quiet. “It doesn’t matter that you don’t know if the child is yours. Until you take the damn test, the child is yours because that’s what it says!”
“Even if the child is mine, I will never marry her,” I say firmly. No one is going to change my mind.
“Her father will kill you and ruin our company!” he points at me.
“Im sorry, John, I plead with him. “But I can’t marry someone without love. I’m in love with someone else.” I speak again, and the room falls silent.

POPJULIA
My mother knows me better than anyone, and as soon as she laid eyes on me, she realized something was wrong. As I tried to evade her questions by heading to kitchen to check on my cake, she followed, bombarding me with questions. I tried to make her believe that nothing had happened, but she knew me so well that i knew she didn’t believe it.
Is it something to do with that woman?” she asked.
“Of course not, Mom, I lied, turning off the stove. My cake looked great.
I know your feelings for William, dear. How did you find out he’s going to be a father?” she asked, scrutinizing me.
“Tine, Mom,” I lied once again.
and didn’t bring up the subject again, and I was thankful for that.
I took the cake out of the oven and left it to cool before going to the living room with my mother.
Thank God that woman wasn’t here!
But my father seemed furious with William; I even considered the idea that she might have told my father about us.

“Is this woman you’re supposedly in love with really worth it?” he asked William. “Is the worth all this sacrifice? You’re going to wage an endless war with Angeline’s family,” he warned.
William’s eyes landed on me upon hearing my father’s words. He remained silent for a while, looking at me and then hack at my father.
“Love is like placing a bet in a game of chance. After years of losing my chips, I found someone worth betting everything on,” he said firmly to my father, as always with few words but enough to warm my heart. I smiled at his declaration.
My father looked disbelieving for a moment at what William had said. He nodded, laughing, and sat down next to his friend.
“I want to meet
is woman,” my father said. “She must be an amazing woman to have won you ever like this.”
this
“she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve had the pleasure of being with,” he said, smiling, his gaze fixed on me. “She has an enchanting smile. Very sincere and kind. She’s not fussy and likes to help others, even though she can be a bit annoying at times. But she’s the most beautiful woman in the whole world, flaws and all. She’s moody yet overly sentimental. She’s sweet and has a captivating smile that’s impossible to resist.”
“Damn!” Brian exclaimed, looking at William’s lovesick expression. “He’s really in love, Dad,”
Our gazes were still locked.
serve afternoon coffee,” my mother said, catching my attention. I nodded and followed her back to the kitchen.
We arrived in the kitchen, and the tumed to me, crossing her arms and giving me a stem look
“You’re going to tell me, or do I have to figure it out on my own?” she questioned.
“What?” I continued to leign ignorance.
“This woman that William talked about is it you?” she asked directly, and I looked at her in shock. I wasn’t ready to have this conversation with her yet. “Of course its you!” she answered her question.
“Mom,” I tried to argue, but she cut me off
“knew it was very strange for you to claim you wanted to help William here! When we got back from the trip, you were different. I should have noticed earlier,” she said, upset and reflecting on all the changes I had undergone these days. “I thought we were friends, daughter. You always told me everything, why did you hide this from me?”
“You’re my best frie
friend, Mom, I affirmed.
“And why didn’t you tell me? Finsure Olivia knew about this she said jealously.
I nodded.
Your daughter seduced me
“I was afroid to tell. I’m still not prepared to talk to my father?”
“I will never judge you!” she said, holding my hand and gently comforting me. “I’m your mother and friend, I will always support you and advise you the best way I can” she said kindly, “How did this happen?” she asked.
I pointed to the counter chair, and we sat down to talk more.
“It wasn’t planned,” I began. “Even though it was something I always wanted, it just happened,”
“You were the mystery woman from the hall?” my mother asked, shocked.
“Yes. I knew who he was,
s, but he didn’t know who I was,” I confessed.
“You lost your virginity to him at a party bathroom?”
?” she asked in shock.
“You said you wouldn’t judge me,” I reminded her
“I’m not judging; I’m just asking,” the defended herself
“I wanted it so much, Mom, When I had the opportunity to be in his arms, I didn’t think of anything else. I just wanted him,” I said, being honest. “After that day, we went on this journey to find out who the mystery woman from the ball was, and in the end, he discovered that the woman was me because of my tattoo. Of course, he was surprised and said it would never happen again, but there’s something more between us. An inexplicable connection. It’s a magnet that pulls us toward each other,” I said. “I realiced I love him, Mom.”
My mother opened her mouth in penuine shock
“I’m speechless!” she says, still trying to process everything she beard. “You know you’ll have to tell the truth and face your father sooner or later, she reminds me.
“That doesn’t have to be now,” I say nervously.
“Hiding is the worst option. I’m with you no matter what, my daughter! I’ll support you through everything.”
“We know my father won’t accept it,” I said sadly.
“We’ll figure something out,” she says, hugging me warmly.
I relieved myself of half the weight on my shoulders. I hate lying and hiding things from my mother.
“But your father is so clueless,” she denies with a laugh. “After William’s confession while looking at you, who wouldn’t notice?” she asks.
“Well, apparently, Dad, we laugh.
I talked a bit more with my mother, and then we set the table for an afternoon coffee. My mother went to the living room to call the boys, and I sat down to wait
for them.
Soon they appeared in the dining room. My father was helping William sit. Everyone sat down and started eating my cake and drinking coffee.
“This cake is delicious, William says, complimenting my cake. I smiled in thanks.
“Full of smiles, sis,” Brian noticed, and I tensed. I looked at William, who seemed perfectly normal.
“Leave me alone, Brian.”
“Don’t start!” my father reprimanded us.
“Dear, I forgot my medication at home. Can you go get it with Blant my mother asks my father.
I feel like he wants to refuse, but who’s crazy enough to deny my mother anything?
“Of course, dear,” he says, getting up along with Brian, and they both leave the house. My mother tum to William, who continues eating unconcernedly.
“What’s going on?” he asks, noticing my mother’s gaze

Williams banks at me, waiting for some reaction, but I remain neutral.
Your daughter seduced me
“What, exactly?” he asks. Feigned innocence.
“You’re in love with my daughter,” She pretends to be angry and slaps him lightly.
“I can explain!” he says. 1 hold back a laugh at his desperate expression.
“I’m waiting,” She crosses her arms.
“Your daughter seduced me!” William says it quickly, and I give him a look.
“Me?” I pretend to be oblivious, too. “Who approached me on the dance floor at that party?” I questioned.
He stifled a laugh and looked at me.
„he defends himself.
“I did, but in my defense, 1 didn’t know it was you,”

“I intend to talk to him as soon as possible!” William declares, and I look at him. “Julia is a bit insecure, so I’m waiting for the right time,
My mother nodded.
“If you hurt my daughter, I’ll kill you, she threatens him.
