Chapter 73
Asher walked into the interrogation room, where Nicolas was handcuffed, waiting for him, and he took a seat. “Hello Nicolas.”
“What’s the meaning of this, Asher? Why do you have me locked up in here for the murder of your parents?! I did no such thing.”
“Does that mean you are admitting to the other charges? You know, the one of your illegal business transactions and smuggling.” Nicolas widened his eyes and shook his head.
“of course not! I did no such thing.”
Asher thinned his lips and bobbed his head. “You are a good liar and an excellent actor, I’ll give you that, but you can drop the act now. You’ve been caught and it’s just the two of us in here, Morgan. I have submitted all the evidence to the police, there’s no escaping it.”
Nicolas sighed and smiled. “I don’t keep a lousy lawyer on my paycheck, Allard. I’ll be out of here in no time, especially with your fabricated evidence. You have nothing on me.”
Asher smirked and dropped the brown envelope he walked in with on the table.” I have a lot on you, Morgan. Right from your days in Oxford University
Nicolas‘ eyes widened and he tried to reach for the envelope, but he was bound. “You have nothing on me. I did nothing wrong! Everything I did was to protect myself! It was not wrong!”
Asher balled his hand into a fist, and bit down hard on his bottom lip to keep from reaching out and punching him right in the nose. “Everything you did was right?” Nicolas stared at him, eyes wild and wide, refusing to say anything
“Killing my mother because you couldn’t get over your pathetic little crush, and rejection was right? Killing my father because he was surpassing you in the business world and because he found the evidence that you killed his wife, was right? Making Afgon, your own wife’s company take the fall for it was right?!” He slammed his fist on the table, and a cracking sound reverberated in the room.
“Yes. Your mother was a little whore, and your father was a pathetic little…” Before he could get all his words out, every bit of restraint had sipped away from Asher, and he landed a punch on his face, breaking his nose.
“You are not even fit to be called a monster, Morgan. You are worse than that, and for every single thing you have done, you are going to pay for it, with the last drop of your fucking blood.”
Nicolas scoffed, smirking, ” And what will my punishment be? A jail term?” He laughed manically, “I’d thrive in jail, Asher, and with a little bit of good behavior, my term can be reduced. You are just as pathetic as your father, and here I was thinking you were a little bit better.”
Asher cocked his head to the side and stared at him, before a very malicious smirk covered his face. He took a few steps toward him, and covered the distance between them before he leaned down and whispered. “There are many ways to kill a man, Morgan. So, make sure you watch the things that go into your mouth and the people that cross your path when you get to jail. I’ve prepared a mindful loads of gifts for you after all.” He patted his shoulder as he stood up, and a smug satisfaction filled him up when he saw the terror in his eyes. “I’ll leave you to your denial of your actions now,” he adjusted his suit and turned to leave, but then paused, “for the records, every thing you said here has been recorded. Have a nice day, Nicolas Morgan.”
“Wait! Asher! Please, hear me out!” He tried to get off the chair and ended up falling to the floor and scrapping his knee, but Asher ignored him and walked out.” Asher! Asher!”
“It’s all over now?” Christopher asked when Asher finally came out of the station after submitting the rest of the evidence, and he managed a tight- lipped smile.
“Unfortunately,” he mumbled, “Nicolas deserves worse than he’s about to get, but my father built a legacy I can’t let crumble because of a lowlife like
him.”
Christopher patted his shoulders and smiled in understanding. “I’m sure they are very proud of you right now.”
“Thanks man”
They both immediately got into the car, and Christopher started it. “So what next?”
* Home, of course. Unless you want to stop by the bar.
Christopher’s brows knitted together and he stared at Asher like he had lost his mind.” Are you being serious right now?” Asher mirrored the look on his face and nodded. “You are not going to get your girl? She’s leaving for Paris today, matter of fact, she’s already at the airport.”
Lily’s at the…” He paused and swallowed, “She’s not my girl, Christopher and I’ll appreciate it if you don’t bring her up. I want nothing to do with the Morgans, even if it costs my soul.”
“Wait, what?”

Chapter 73
“Just let it…”
“What do you mean by she’s a Morgan, I thought you said your private investigator told you everything.”
“He did.”
“Apparently not if you think Lily’s a Morgan.”
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
*Lily is a Larkin, my cousin.”
Asher breathed out a laugh and shook his head.” Funny joke, that’s enough now. Don’t play with me.”
* Remember the conversation I told you I overheard between my grandpa and my uncle?” Asher’s eyes slowly widened and he shook his head while Christopher slowly nodded. “Yes, that’s Lily. Long story short, her mum and my uncle were college love birds, she got knocked up but married Nicolas without knowing.”
“No no no!” Asher hit the headboard with every exclamation!” Fuck! I messed up, Christopher. I messed up!”
“What the fuck did you do?”
“I don’t have the time to explain, just drive to the goddamn airport! When does her flight leave?”
He checked his watch and immediately brought the car to life. “Well, 15 minutes if I add the time it’ll take to get to the airport.”
