Chapter 61
Lily woke up feeling more refreshed than she has in days. A lazy smile stretched across her face and her hands reached for her stomach. Her smile broadened the second her hands laid on her stomach, rubbing it softly.
Angelica was right, she needed proper rest to think clearly and make proper decisions. She reached for her phone with one hand, and opened it. There were of course no messages, but this time around, the feeling of disappointment wasn’t overwhelming. In fact, there was a bit of acceptance.
“Hey there little buddy,” she looked down at her tummy and rubbed it gently. Tears formed in her eyes despite the smile on her face, her mind was made up on what to do with the pregnancy.
Her stomach rumbled a few seconds later, and she threw her head back and laughed. For days, she hasn’t really felt hungry and hasn’t had the urge to eat anything, and here she was. It honestly felt like her baby was responding to her through that.
She tapped it gently, grinning. “Got it, buddy. I’ll go feed us.” She felt giddy as she took her bath and freshened up. The air felt light, the weather was nice, and despite the fact that she was nauseous, it felt like everything was okay in her life, and she had no idea where it was coming from but she was glad it was there nonetheless.
Once she was done freshing up, she walked downstairs humming to a song. It was when she finally walked into the kitchen that she noticed how quiet it was and she frowned. Normally, Angelica should be awake by now.
“Angelica!” She called out as loud as she could, hoping to get a response as negative thoughts were already swirling in her mind. Her heart dropped to her stomach when she didn’t get any response, and her thoughts went wild.
She instantly tried to run up to her room, whilst getting ready to call 911 when the front door creaked open and she halted. She crossed her arms across her chest, and arched a brow, smiling, as she watched Angelica attempt to sneak up to her room.
“Ahem…” Lily cleared her throat and Angelica instantly froze, “I didn’t know people sneaked around in their house.” She walked up to Angelica, who now wore a guilty look on her face, but went ahead to feign dumb
“Lily! You’re awake, and you look well.”
“Thank you.”
Angelica chuckled nervously and stood up straighter. “I just went for a run, you were still asleep when I left.”
“Hmm…” Lily nodded, taking in her attire and Angelica shifted from one foot to the other. “A run in this. It looks more like a no–effort–effort look. I wouldn’t run in those, and neither would you. Where have you been?”
Angelica’s shoulders sagged in defeat and a triumphant smile graced Lily’s face. “Fine, I didn’t go running,” she said walking over to the dining room, with Lily following suit.
“I figured.”
“I went to see an ex of mine,” Angelica dropped the bombshell the second they both were seated and Lily’s mouth dropped open.
“You did what?”
“I know! It’s crazy, but then…” Her eyes softened and she smiled. “I don’t regret it.”
Lily stared at her quietly for a while, before she slowly bobbed her head. “Tell me about him, and the meeting last night.” Angelica’s eyes instantly lit up in excitement as she recalled in great detail all that happened.
After she mistakenly let slip about the last moment thingy, Christopher went straight into panic mode and she spent that next 20 minutes trying to get him to calm down, and stop him from taking her to yet another hospital for a checkup. She was already a ball of nerves.
When he was finally calm, Angelica failed woefully to stop the butterflies fluttering in her belly because of how agitated he had gotten on her behalf. She knew anyone close to her would have reacted the same way, but it meant the world coming from him.
Both of them spent the time afterwards, talking about anything and everything, till Christopher went back to the actual thing they should be discussing.
“I didn’t cheat on you, Angiolina,” He said all of a sudden, and Angelica was instantly irritated. She couldn’t stand the lies, she saw them in the hallway and she got extra evidence sent to her and he looked her straight in the eyes and was lying?
“I guess we are done here then. I can’t stand you lying to my face, Christopher. You obviously think I am stupid to look me in the eye and lie.”
“I’m not asking you to believe me without any evidence,” he said before she could stand up and storm off, “2 weeks, that’s all I ask for, and I’ll prove my innocence. I love you, Angelica and you know it, I will never hurt you like that.”

Chapter 61
Lily flicked away the tears that had fallen from the corner of her eyes at the story. “That is so cute, you are…” She paused as she suddenly recalled something, “wait, what did you say his name was again?”
Angelica smacked her lips together, “Lancaster. Christopher Lancaster.”
Lily’s mouth instantly dropped open. In New York there are only 2 other names that stand toe to toe with Allard, Lancaster and Larkin.
“Girl!!?” She squealed and Angelica nodded knowingly, and they both burst into laughter
“I’m happy for you, girl.” She reached across the table and gave Angelica a hug.
“Thank you. And I am for you.” Lily raised her brows and Angelica did the same. “What? You look good and bubbly this morning.”
“All thanks to you, Angelica.”
They both smiled fondly at each other, and Angelica racked her brain trying to see if it was a good idea to ask the question bugging her mind. Lily smiled, having a clue what was probably going through her mind.
“I am going to keep the baby.”
Angelica immediately stood up with a squeal and pulled her into a hug. “Yes, yes! I’m going to be a god mother.” She pulled out from the hug and narrowed her eyes, “I am going to be the God mother, right?” Lily nodded and she squealed again.
“Also, the company…” Angelica pulled out of the hug and stared at her curiously, “I’m going to open it in Paris.”
