Chapter 29
Lily woke up with the worst headache known to mankind, and a sharp hiss of pain escaped her lips e second she opened her eyes. “What the hell- happened?” she groaned as she tried to sit up.
It took a few second for her eyes to adjust to the blinding light, and a full minute for her memories of last night to come pouring back to her She Tooked around and she was in her tosin, bait she could have sworn she slept off in the living mom
Asher. A simile involuntarily curled up on her lips at the thought of him carrying her up to the room despite being exhausted binnell. Last night should really go shown in history.
She smiled even more and stretchest, and that was when her eyes caught the time in the little clock on her table, and they widened. She has her final meeting with the team in less than 2 hours, and she has barely gotten out of bed. She immediately threw the duvet off her and tried to nish out of the bed, but the splitting headaches held her in place. She quickly cradled her bead and hissed in pain.
“Aspirin…” She mumbled and slowly got up the bed to go in search of it, but a glass
saf water and two tablets of Aspirin on the table stared at her in the face as she stood up. Asher must have told the Helps to get some up for her. She quickly took it and ay she way setting the glass down, a i off and she frowned before she picked it off the floor and opened it.
a note fell
“Tim sure the headache must be blinding right now. Tike the aspirin and have a hot bath, it’d help you relax and rejuvenate. Do not forget to take your breakfast or brunch no matter what, you need the energy to nuove around and keep the headaches abay. _Asher”
Giddiness filled Lilly’s head momentarily and she felt like her cheeks were about to li
burst open from how hard she was smiling. She folded the note neatly and tucked it in between her notebook, before she searched for her phone to send him a thank you text..
Her happiness however disappeared when she opened her phone and was greeted with text messagõe from both parents. Heaving a breath, she dropped the phone on the bed and walked away to the bathroom. She didn’t need to open it to know its content, and it was way too early to deal with them and their accusations,
She went by her business monotonously, all her happiness sapped out of her. She almost missed her breakfast, but remembered Asher’s notes so she forced a few bites down her throat before she drove off to work
Her meetings went by faster than she expected. They were quick to conclude on a design and pick out the date to officially get started on designing. Relief coursed through Lily’s veins when the last teammate walked out, and she realized she’d get the next 5 days off before she gets thrown into work again.
She turned on her phone, and the messages she ignored earlier had tripled, and she couldn’t help but wonder if Asher was there again. She didn’t get to have any discussion in regards to that with him last night, “dang!” She cursed, standing to her feet. She completely forgot to send the thank you text, and now it seemed too late.
Lay sighed exasperatedly. “You know what?” She picked up her bag and stormed out of the house, she was going to pay her parents and their precious daughter one last visit in the hospital. She would have done her best by then.
On getting to the hospital however, she developed cold feet and couldn’t bring herself to step out of the car. After storming off on her dad yesterday, today can only be so much worse, and the painful throbs at the back of her head begged her not to do anything strenuous.
She closed her hands around the steering wheel and squeezed painfully. There was really no safe option. Walking away won’t keep her parents off her back, and would only make her feel guilty for not visiting her hospitalized sister, but going in on the other hand
A knock on her car window caused her heart to sink to her stomach and she jerked, turning to the window. She placed her hand on her chest and took a deep breath when she realized it was Asher, and not her father.
She unlocked the door and with his help, slowly got down from the car. “You are here.” She stated once she regained her footing and Asher nodded.
He had no plans of coming here today, but Mrs Morgan had called earlier and was hysterical about Charlotte’s refusal to eat unless he comes, and Lily’s lack of vistation. He couldn’t really bring himself to care if Charlotte cats or not, but the thought of Lily not coming and the impression in would leave on her parents and the strain it could possibly cause, bothered him so he chose to come to clear things up, but here she was.
“I didn’t know you’d be coming” Lily raised her brows, before she began marching ahead, and he immediately fell into her pace.
“Why? My parents said so?
“Yes” He replied cautiously… Something in her voice was rubbing off on him in the wrong.
“I was here yesterday, but my father accused me of Charlotte’s condition, so I left? She blurted out and Asher halted.
He tried to wrap his head around what he just heard, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t wrap his head around the logic. Charlotte was involved in an accident, and as much as he knows, Lily… “It’s a family thing, don’t bother your head trying to figure it out.” Lily interrupted his thought process. “You won’t.”
“I see..” He mused glancing around the hospital. “We can go. We don’t have to go in the wasn’t going to let her go in there just to become an

Lily smiled warmly at him and shook her head, she already made it this far, she might as well complete her dues. “You’re with me.” She said with a grin, and Asher let out a breath before he joined her.
