Chapter 21
A knock on the door caused Lily to look up from her laptop, which had tons of designs displayed on them, and her brows furrowed in confusion. She didn’t order room service. The knock came again and she sighed then proceeded to drop the laptop on the table and walked over to the door.
“Yeah?” She called out as she walked to the door. Peeking through the peephole, her heart dropped to her stomach and she immediately pressed her back against the door. What the hell was he doing here? She slowly turned around and peeped again, and lo and behold it was really him.
She let out an inaudible scream and stomped her feet repeatedly. She planned on avoiding him throughout the day, and if possible the next 45 days. It’ll make things simple and easy, and also keep her from thinking about how stupid her deal was
“Are you going to let me in, or do I have to break in?” She rolled her eyes at his question, before she took a deep breath, and at glancing at herself quickly in the mirror, she realized how much of a mess she looked like in her baggy shirt with crumbs on it, and the mismatched short she had on. She immediately tried to get herself together but then stopped and smiled.
The point was to have him divorce her in 45 days anyway, what was the point of impressing him? The corner of her lips tugged up in a smirk at the realization, and she pulled the door open
“Any reasor have to see you so early?” She asked and Asher cocked his head to the side.
“So carly?” She raised her brows, and he glanced at his watch. It’s noon, Lily. Have you been sleeping?” His eyes trailed down her body, and despite Lily’s earlier confidence about him seeing her like that, she suddenly wanted to shut the door in his face, and get presentable. He’s always seen her at her best, never like this.
“I’ve never seen you like this.” Asher said, putting her thoughts into words and her heart sank. “I like it.” He blurted out and Lily’s eyes slowly widened.
“Sorry… What?”
“I said I like it. This feels real, and homely. Being put together all the time must be exhausting
He noticed. That was the only thing that rang in Lily’s mind. He noticed all the efforts she’s been putting in, and yet he prefers… Shaking her head, she forced the thoughts away,

Asher nodded, snapping back to reality at her words. He had been caught off by seeing her like this, extremely comfortable and extremely… Cute, that he almost forgot what he came here for.
“It’s past noon.”
“This is the second time you’ve said that, I’m sure you’ve made yourself quite…
And today is meant to be day one.” He cut in and Lily gulped.
What on Earth is that supposed to mean?
She cleared her throat and crossed her arms over her chest. “Wha What your point?”
“Aren’t you suppased to, you know, he making me fall in love? Or is this part of the plans?”
That’s none of your business.”
“Hmm… He trailed off and slowly took her in with narrowed eyes, before a devilish smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “Lily…” His voice dropped a few octaves and Lily’s heartbeat picked up its pace, “I didn’t become a billionaire by being ignorant and glossing over deals

“I think you’ve also made that clear.”
“Then don’t you think it stupid to make a deal with me, and not hold up to your end of it?”
Lily immediately found her feet interesting and channeled her gaze to them, completely avoiding his. “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
He chuckled and took a step closer to her, closing the gap between them as he gently cupped her jaw and raised her head to meet his gaze. “Don’t play games with me. Mrs Allard. You’ve got to keep your end of the deal for the next 45 days, or the deal is off. Is that clear?” She stared at him with a defiant look in her eyes, yet she nodded and he smiled. Smart girl L
“Good. Now, go and get dressed. I’m taking you out on a date, today’s our last day here.”
“O- wait what?”
Asher sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Just go and get dressed, Lily.”
She frowned and placed her hands on her waist, “but why? Why are you taking me out on a date, and why did you make the
decision to leave tomorrow without telling me? What if I still have plans with Mrs Darbyste, and why did you make the

*First of all, I know that you don’t have any plans with Mrs Darby, I called her to confirm. Two, you didn’t make the decision to come here, I did. It’s only fair that I decide when we go back, and three.. his voice grew softer, and what looked like guilt flashed through his eyes, and Lily’s brows shot up. “I realized I’ve never taken you out on a proper date. We are in Paris now, I can try to make up for that.”
Oh Lily’s hands dropped to her side, and she licked her bottom lip before she slowly nodded. Was this seriously happening? “Oh okay… I’ll see you in…”

“Yes,” She swallowed and nodded. “Yes, 30 minutes.
“Dress casually and comfortably” She nodded and disappeared into her room, locking the door behind her while her heart threatened to burst right out of chest.
After 5 years… Was it worth it to get this excited after so long? What if he was doing this in a bid to let her down slowly? Her mind raced to Charlotte’s message before the dinner party, and the image of them kissing flashed through her mind.
“I might as well enjoy it.” She whispered to herself, taking a deep breath and walked over to her suitcase. If this was going to be a process of getting devastatingly heartbroken, she might as well enjoy the ride.
