Chapter 21
Zara was about to complain when she stopped upon hearing those words. As she blinked, a tear rolled down her cheek. She uttered aggrievedly, “They were the ones who insulted me first, Winnie and Yuna both heard it; you can go ask them.”
“They’re close to you; of course, they’ll side with you. Yvie might insult you, but how could Camryn offend you? You pick on her because you think she has a good temper, am I right?”
Zara didn’t expect that Navion was finally making the first move after all this time, and it was to settle accounts for the person who had hurt her.
Unwilling to just accept this, she started to throw a tantrum again. “Yes, I just don’t like her. What’s wrong with that? We wouldn’t have ended up like this if it weren’t for her. And you’re still defending her now. It’s like you don’t care about me!”
“Why should I care about an ex girlfriend from ten years ago? Zara, I’ve told you countless times that we’re over. You’re the one who refuses to believe it.
Seeing how emotionless he was when he said this, Zara completely lost her rationality.
“You’ve been broken up with her for three years too, right? She’s just my substitute. Why are you still hung up on her? Didn’t you promise to love me for a lifetime?”
Her breakdown, crying uncontrollably, was something Xavion had seen countless times in the past three years. He had already become immune to it.
His phone buzzed a few times then. When he took it out and saw his secretary’s message, he coldly announced, “I have canceled all of the five projects that the Jacobson family and the Joel family were collaborating on. Whether we resume cooperation later depends on how you act. If you keep causing trouble for Yvie and Camryn like you did today, you’ll have to bear the consequences.”
Hearing his cold tone, Zara suddenly looked up, her eyes filled with disbelief. “What did you say? You’re doing this to me just to defend them? Look properly; I’m the one who’s injured!”
Xavion’s patience had run out. He glanced at her one last time with indifference.
“Yvie is my biological sister, and Camryn is the person I care about the most. Don’t you understand?”
After saying that, he turned to leave without a care about how she would react.
The moment the door closed, a heart–wrenching cry echoed in the room.
But Xavion didn’t turn back.
After Camryn returned home with Yvette, both changed out of their dirty clothes. As they ate the dinner the housekeeper had already prepared for them, they chatted about what had happened earlier that day,
Just after finishing their meal, Xavion’s call came through.
“I’ve handled things here. Where are you? Let’s have dinner together. I need to ask you something.”
Hearing that, Yvette put down her cutlery and spoke slowly.
“It’s fine. Camryn and I have already eaten. If you have something to ask, just say it now. Don’t get in the way of us spending time together.” “Then let’s grab a coffee. It’s still early.”
Yvette immediately sensed what Xavion was up to. After all, they were siblings.
With a snort, she insisted, “I was the one who hurt Zara. I caused the trouble. It has nothing to do with Camryn. You’re not asking about something important, you just want an excuse to see her. I’ll tell you, you and her have nothing to do with each other now. Stop getting ideas.”
She said it all in one go without holding back before directly hanging up the phone.
Seeing the smug look on her face, Camryn couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Yvie, it seems that you’ve got a temper during the three years we didn’t meet. You even dare to go against your brother now.” “It’s just so I can protect you from more grievances. Do you think it’s easy on me?” Yvette huffed-
