Ethan’s fever raged for days. He raved about Amelia, his voice filled with
anguish.
Chloe sat beside him, numb, watching him. Her love for him had long since
turned to resentment. The miscarriage, the scandal, the coma, the loss of her
child… she blamed him for everything.
Yet, she knew she couldn’t leave him. He was her lifeline. She had no skills,
no prospects. No one would hire a disgraced social media influencer. All she had
left was him.
She pressed the call button.
Doctors rushed in, tending to Ethan. Late that night, his fever broke. He
