Amelia remained silent, her patience for this charade wearing thin.“It’s
getting late. I’m leaving.”
Silas started to rise with her, but his friends stopped him.“Amy needs her
rest. We haven’t gotten together in ages, man. You can’t leave yet!”
“Yeah, Silas, let Amy go home and get her beauty sleep. Stay and hang with
your bros.”
Amelia pulled her hand from Silas’s grasp.“My driver will take me. You stay.”
Without another word, she turned and left. Her steps were quick, leaving
Silas no time to react.
As the car pulled away, Amelia felt a phone in her purse that wasn’t hers.
Silas’s phone. A black, sleek model.
Frowning, she instructed the driver to turn back.
As the car stopped outside the bar, Amelia saw Bethany getting out of a cab.
She was preoccupied with checking her makeup in her phone, heading towards
the private room without looking up.
Amelia’s grip tightened on Silas’s phone. She followed.

Sure enough, Bethany stopped at Silas’s room.

The moment she entered, she threw herself into Silas’s arms. He caught her, his fingers playfully twirling a strand of her hair.“You got here fast.”
Bethany nuzzled his shoulder, a playful smile on her face. “I missed you! I
came as soon as you called.”
Silas chuckled.“Then you deserve a reward.” He captured her lips in a
passionate kiss.
“Alright, alright, lovebirds! Get a room!” His friends hooted, not the least bit
surprised.
Standing outside the door, Amelia watched through the crack, a chilling coldness spreading through her. Everyone knew about Silas and Bethany. They
had all been playing a part.
“Now that Bethany’s here, Silas, can we finally play some real games?” one friend asked, a suggestive grin on his face. They clapped their hands, and the women who had been there earlier reappeared, each settling onto a lap.
The
game was simple: spin the bottle. Truth or dare.
The bottle finally landed on Silas.

No way! Tell us all about it!”
Bethany buried her face in his chest, blushing. Silas grinned.“She’s a good
girl. Very enthusiastic,”
“I told you, man! The grass is always greener!”
“Seriously, Silas, Guys like us, we all have a few side pieces.”
“As long as you’re discreet, it’s all good. Amelia will never find out.” They
kissed and fondled the women on their laps.
At the mention of Amelia’s name, Silas’s smile vanished. His face hardened.”
Don’t bring Amy into this. You know what will happen if she finds out.”
“Yeah, yeah, relax. Your secret’s safe with us.”
Every word was a blow to Amelia. The laughter inside was a deafening roar.
Her body numb, she stumbled away, a ghost walking through the crowded bar.
Her driver, seeing her distress, rushed to her side, about to go inside and tell
