John frowned and recoiled in disgust, as if Raina were something repulsive.
“Raina, you insisted on seeing me, what is it you want?” he asked coldly, his
words like sharp knives piercing Raina’s heart.
Raina’s face instantly turned pale as a sheet. She shook her head desperately,
tears streaming down her face like a broken dam.“John, I just love you so much, I
can’t live without you, I don’t want to lose you,” she sobbed, her body trembling
violently with emotion.
But John’s heart was filled with only resentment. “Love? You call that love?
Your love only brings endless disaster to others. I will never forgive you, you
deserve to spend the rest of your life alone in this dark prison, it’s the
punishment you deserve!” he roared.
He glared at Raina, her pitiful weeping only intensifying his disgust.
“Besides this nonsense, don’t you have anything else to say?” he asked
impatiently.
Raina sobbed, “John, please help me. I only made those mistakes because I
love you too much. I’m willing to compensate Amelia, please get me a good
lawyer…”
John scoffed. “You killed my daughter, destroyed my family, and now you

Raina suddenly burst into hysterical laughter, the sound echoing through
the empty visiting room, eerie and chilling.
She stared at me, her voice almost hysterical.“Do you think you’re so lucky?
Humph, if it weren’t for me, how would your mother have become Mrs. Miller’s
savior? How could you have married John?”
I glared at her angrily.“What do you mean? What despicable things have you
back?”

Raina smirked. “It’s all because of that old hag, insisting on finding a suitable
match for John. John clearly loved me so much, but she refused to give her
blessing. I had no choice but to find another way,” she said spitefully.
Her gaze
turned vicious. “I originally just wanted to find some desperate guys
to kidnap Mrs. Miller, preferably kill her, so no one could interfere with John
and me. But who would have thought that by some twist of fate, you ended up
marrying into the Miller family?”
Her eyes gleamed with a mixture of madness and resentment as she laughed
maniacally.
I stood there, stunned, speechless from the sudden revelation, as if struck by
lightning.
My heart ached, each beat a wave of excruciating pain.

Why was fate so cruel to me? I wondered miserably
I felt like a powerless pawn in the hands of destiny. And
destiny. And my moker the
warmest presence in my life, had been indirectly killed by Raina
Her face, her gentle touch, her words of concern, now turned imo tharp

And my daughter, my angelic child, her life our shom before it could fully
bloom all because of this wicked Raina
I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms as if trying to squeeze
out the hatred in my heart
Did I kill her whole family in a past life? Why was the so cruel to me in this
life? This pain and suffering shouldn’t have befallen me
I hated the injustice of fate, punishing me while the perpetrator went
unpunished. I hated Raina even more, she was like an evil spirit, mercilessly
destroying the most important things in my life.
I cursed her countless times in my heart, resentment burning like a raging
fire in my soul, threatening to consume my sanity.
Suddenly, a child’s voice reached my ears, clear and ethereal, as if traveling
from a distant heaven.

A warm light pierced through the pain and confusion in my heart, pulling
me back from the abyss of hatred, restoring my reason.
I knew it was Lily, staying by my side.
Although her pure soul had left this world, she still cared for me.
I saw her lovely smile, like a pure flower blooming before my eyes. She
wanted me to live well, not for revenge, not for others, but for myself.
The days entangled with hatred felt like a nightmare, a constant struggle.
Lily’s voice was a magical key, unlocking the door to my heart that had been
closed for so long.
I realized that dwelling on the pain of the past was like building an invisible
prison for myself, where I tortured myself endlessly, while Raina probably didn’t
even care about my suffering.
I couldn’t continue like this, I had to break free from the shackles of pain.
I knew my mother in heaven wanted me to be happy.
I took a deep breath, feeling a surge of new strength within me. Each breath
seemed to expel the negative emotions.
I told myself that from now on, I would focus on the good things in the

I would find meaning and joy in life again, let my life shine anew, and live up
to the expectations of my daughter and mother.
The police officers who had been listening from the next room came out.
They walked towards Raina with serious expressions, holding a notebook, and
gestured for her to sign it.
Seeing the police enter, Raina stopped laughing maniacally and sat up
straight.
When her gaze landed on the notebook in the officer’s hand, her pupils
constricted, her face darkening instantly.
She lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly. After a moment
of silence, she raised her head again.
Her icy gaze pierced me like a sharp sword. A scornful smirk twisted her lips
as she spat out, “I just thought you were stupid and gullible, so I made up a story to
play with you. But you, you actually want to destroy me?”
I frowned slightly, a hint of disdain curving my lips. “I have a recording of
everything you just said,” I said calmly.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small recording pen, dangling it
before her eyes before pressing the play button.
