Grant froze, then lay back down, telling them everything. Hearing the IVF
story, Grant’s parents shook their heads in disappointment.
“Grant, you are a shrewd pup. Why would you do that?”
He didn’t answer but cried silently, He didn’t understand, either. He’d
believed that Rosie would never leave him.
His mother felt sorry for him and began to complain.“You may have done
wrong,
but you are suffering because of her! She is to blame!”
Grant wanted to protest, but he didn’t know what to say.
Rosie hadn’t even visited him.
Wanda clutched Grant’s mother’s arm, looking terrified.
“Baby… Auntie, my baby!”
That stunned everyone. Grant asked, “What baby?”
He never mated with her. How could she be pregnant?
The truth was,
“Two weeks ago, I requested the healer to retrieve the seed you left at the
den and then underwent the bonding ritual. Grant, I merely desired a pup with
you…”

Wanda’s pale face reminded Grant’s parents how Grant had pushed her.
They took her to the healer, leaving Grant alone with his confusion.
The pup was his? If she had the pup, would Rosie ever forgive him? He
decided to request Wanda to terminate the pregnancy.
But he failed. He couldn’t get rid of the pup or Wanda.
“Mother, Father, I am not bonding with her.”
Grant refused. His parents felt helpless.
Grant knew they were doing this for him, but he wasn’t ready to give up on Rosie. He was so close to bonding with me. Why had things turned out like this?
