(Let Me Go, My Alpha Husband) Chapter 16
Three days passed, and it was my bonding day.

Jake and I arrived at the lodge to prepare. His parents handled the guests, he
remained with me.
Looking at Jake, I asked, “Jake, why are you so well–prepared in such a short
time?”
He coughed, looking away. He’d planned everything–the dwelling, the
attire, the rings—months ago. He only showed them to me after I agreed to bond
with him. If I had said no, he would have kept them hidden forever.
I understood. Still, there was something I didn’t know. He admitted to
craving me but refused to say when it began.
He noticed my expression and knew I was overthinking. The stylist finished
my makeup, praising my skin. Jake kissed me gently, making me blush.
He smiled, looking at my blushing face. “That is
my
mate.”
I punched him gently.
“Jake!”
“My love, that is attempted murder!” He clutched his chest and screamed. I

was shocked, wondering if I hurt him. Then he grabbed my hand, kissing
it.“Sweetheart, address me more intimately, is that agreeable?”

I rolled my eyes, and the stylist laughed. He just reminded us not to ruin the
makeup before leaving-
We continued to joke until it was almost time for the ceremony. Jake left the
room. My phone rang.
It was an unknown number. I assumed it was Grant and hung up. But the
call came again. I hesitated. Perhaps it wasn’t Grant? I answered and heard a
stranger’s voice.
“Greetings, is this Ms. Rosie?”
I confirmed.“This is the healer’s den. Mr. Grant, your former mate, has been
in an accident. He is in danger. Please come here now.”
I froze. Grant was in Austin? And he’d been in an accident?
“Ms. Rosie, are you still there?” The healer’s voice snapped me back to reality.
I refused.“I apologize, we are severed. I am bonding today. I cannot attend.
Please contact someone else.”
I hung up. I knew that Grant came here for me, but as I’d stated, we were
finished. Plus, he had his family and friends.

The healer looked awkward. The physician arrived and asked if she had
contacted Grant’s family. She shook her head.
It took an hour to reach Grant’s parents. Learning that Grant was to undergo
an amputation and that his right forelimb was severely injured, they were
devastated and immediately booked passage. After obtaining permission from
Grant’s parents, the physicians prepared for the procedure.
Meanwhile, my bonding ceremony was in full swing. I walked down the
aisle with my grandfather, toward Jake. Grandpa’s eyes were red.
“Grandpa, do not weep. It is a joyous day.” I was crying, too, but tried to
smile.“I am not going far. I can visit you often.”
He saw my tears and patted my hand.“Agreed, let us not weep.”
The aisle was short. Grandpa gave my hand to Jake.“Jake, you are like a
grandson to me. Please care for Rosie. I entrust her to you…”
He was choking up. Finally, his granddaughter was bonding. He was happy
and sad.
Jake nodded solemnly. I had never seen him so serious. Holding my hand
tight, he looked at me with affection.“Grandpa, I shall cherish Rosie. I shall not
disappoint you or Rosie!”

Rosie, you are finally my mate.”
