“Captain Grant, you’re hurt!”
Christopher’s expression was cold and ley. His minor injury was nothing. What really mattered was Rebecca, who had stepped in front of him and taken on a blow, ignoring how dangerous the situation wa.
Why had she done that? Couldn’t she have stayed behind him? Or was it like what she had said in Barton Fields, that she wanted to climb her way into the Grant
family and be his wife?
Christopher withdrew the complicated emotions in his eyes and tossed Miko onto the ground. “Investigate all his assets and activities. He’s involved in trafficking and violence. They pose a severe threat to public safety Interrogate him thoroughly!”
The soldiers rushed into the yacht and were shaken at the realization that Christopher had faced 13 men alone.
Christopher tumed back to the yacht. When he entered, he saw one of the soldiers standing in front of Rebecca and showing his badge. “Don’t worry. We’re here to protect you, not hurt you. Please come with us.”
As soon as Christopher stepped inside, Rebecca immediately looked at him with teary eyes. He pressed his lips briefly and walked forward. Take care of the others. I’ll handle her.”
The soldier was visibly surprised. Christopher usually kept his distance from women and even the female colleagues in their unit. Now, he was volunteering to help a young lady.
