Rebecca’s gate immediately darted oves. At this hout, why was Ruby ring in from outside?

Ruby opened her mouth but found herself at a loss for words. She could only stand there, watching Rebecca and Christopher walk off together.

Rebecca’s toe was cold and steady. “I have just one question–how did you know exactly which room I was in? You broke in through the window and came straight for me. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence.”
Christopher’s sharp gaze darkened at her words, his expression unreadable.
The woman froze for a moment, then quickly forced a nervous smile. “Oh, well, you know. We’ve been at this for a while. It’s just instinct! You were alone in your room, so you seemed like an easy target. But we swear, it’ll never happen again. Rebecca smirked. “If I let you off, you’ll just hurt someone else. Take this as a lesson and deal with the consequences.
She turned to the officer, litting her shirt slightly to reveal the cuts and bruises on her torso, “These injuries should be enough to file a report, right? If not, I can get a medical certificate. I want them to face the punishment they deserve.”
