Chapter 115
There were two cars at the door.
Blake was the first to get out, and he was immediately followed by Derek and Lily, who came uninvited.
Evelyn looked terribly upset. She had never wanted Derek to come on her mother’s death anniversary. Most of Naomi’s suffering back then was caused by Derek. He had never visited her grave once after she passed away, so why did he suddenly tum up now?
“Evie, this is such an important day. How could you not inform me about this? Derek walked up to her with a frown. He looked slightly displeased and helpless as he continued, “I should be present.”
Evelyn subconsciously looked at Blake.
If not for Blake, Derek might not even remember what day it was.
Blake met her gaze and frowned. He wanted to say something, but Derek waved and said, “You don’t need to blame Blake. We were on
once husband and wife, after all. How could I not remember this day?”
Evelyn, however, found it amusing. Derek’s hypocrisy made her feel like puking.
Did he pick this day to piss them off? Nobody in the Reed family would welcome him.
“There’s no need. My uncle and grandmother don’t wish to see you. Please leave,” Evelyn said with the last shred of decency she could muster, but her rone was still ic

Evelyncurled her lips. “Mr. Harrison, should I remind you that my last name is Reed?”
Their father and daughter relationship had dwindled since three years ago.
Derek’s expression darkened. Feeling slightly pissed off, he said, “Why are you becoming more and more like your mother? You’re stubborn and unyielding. If it wasn’t for me, how could you have married Mr. Grant and live such a comfortable life? Do you think you can marry above your station on your own?”
Derek was infuriated. How could Evelyn be so ungrateful? How could he have raised such an ungrateful daughter?
Evelyn’s expression finally changed. She thought of all the miseries she had experienced in the past three years and said sarcastically, “You’re right. If it wasn’t for you, I never would have ended up in this state.”
If Derek had not bribed the reporters to wait at the hotel and take compromising photos of her and Lucas, Lucas never would have misunderstood her. She would not be stuck in a temble marriage with him because of that.
Derek was a father who traded her daughter’s reputation for his own benefit and the public’s entertainment. Why should she give a damn about him?
“You lot are not welcome here. Don’t alert ny grandmother. Please leave.” Evelyn’s gaze gradually became colder. She did not bother putting on an act anymore. She was blunt as she ordered them to leave.
They were mouming and feeling sorrowful that day. The appearance of the Harrison family on a day like that would only piss the Reeds off.
Derek looked upset. He saw that Evelyn’s gaze was filled with criticism and disappointment.
The way he saw it, it was the Reeds‘ honor that he showed up that day. He could not believe that Evelyn gave him, her father, a hard time instead.
Lily sneered. “There aren’t many people in the Reed family. We only came to have a lookbecause we pitied you guys. How ungrateful of you.”
It was only then that Blake looked at her with a darkened gaze.
“I might be ungrateful, but that’s better than the two of you, who think too highly of yourselves, elyn replied coldly.
They were not welcome in the first place, yet they still demanded to be treated like guests of honor.
Lily was passed off. Suddenly, she started laughing. She glanced into the yard and asked, “Why don’t I see Mr. Grant? This is such an important day, yet he’s not here to be with you?”
Her mockery could not be any louder as she asked, “Aren’t you curious why he’s not here?
Evelyn had a bad feeling.
In the next second, Lilly tilted her head and said with a grin, “That’s because he’s celebrating the birthday of his future mother–in–law, who’s still alive!”
She emphasized the word “alive“, implying that Noami’s deaths anniversary was laughable
Evelyn was taken aback
