Benedict was livid. He couldn’t hold in his anger any longer. He gave the bodyguards a look.
They grabbed Yvonne’s arms, holding her in place.
His expression was dark. “I will ask you one last time. Where’s my brother?”
“He’s dead.”
Benedict slapped Yvonne again. This time, the force was enough to make her spit out blood.
Yvonne gave up all pretenses. “Benedict Fuller, are you a real man? You’re 30 years old, yet that boy was only seven years old. How could he be your brother? Why are you lying? Why are you being so cruel to me?” “Stubborn woman!” Benedict kicked her to the ground. Taking out his phone, he pulled up a photo of our entire family. “Look at this. This is my mother. This is my brother.”
In the photo, my husband and I stood lovingly together, accompanied by Benedict and Jeremy.
Only now did Yvonne look scared.
When the bodyguards dragged her away, she was shaking and shouting, “Benedict, I’m sorry! Please forgive me! I didn’t know she was your mother. Mrs. Fuller, I was wrong! Please forgive me…”
Her voice faded out in the distance.
I turned away. I did not feel any joy in seeing her punished. I survived with all my injuries, but I lost Jeremy
forever.
My husband, Peter, came home that night. He looked grim, but he did not ask me anything.
Benedict had probably told him about everything.
“Don’t worry, darling. I’ll make her pay for this.”
Yvonne was fired, but that was not punishment enough.
When he was young, Peter had dabbled in the business industry and was known for his ruthless tactics.
Benedict, despite his gentle exterior, had inherited his ruthless nature.
The two of them combined would become Yvonne’s worst nightmare.
On the day I was discharged from the hospital, Yvonne appeared before me. She looked unhurt, but she was shaking uncontrollably as she knelt before me, her head so low she was almost kissing my shoes.
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Fuller. I didn’t realize who you were. Please forgive me. I have received my punishment. Please, I can’t take it anymore.”
“Where’s your brother?” I asked suddenly.
Yvonne paused in surprise. “In prison.”
I laughed coldly. “He’s still alive. Why should I forgive you?”

Chapter 8
Someone sent me a video of Yvonne slapping herself while kneeling on the ground naked. As she struck herself, she said, “I am a bitch! I am a slut! I deserve to die!”
I knew without asking that this was Benedict’s doing. Even so, how was this enough to avenge Jeremy’s
death?
I sent some money to a person.
The next day, Francis was released from prison.
Then, someone approached him and led him into gambling, letting him win in the beginning Slowly, he won hundreds and thousands of dollars. The most he’d gotten in one night was a million dollars.
He thought that he was the “Chosen One“, destined to always win. Just as he really got into the habit of gambling, he began losing.
In order to win back the money he lost, he sold his car and house and even sold the gifts that Benedict had given Yvonne before to sell for funds.
Yvonne knew nothing about this. She was too busy trying to appease Benedict.
She allowed Benedict to beat her and me to curse her, all the while dealing with the fallout of having her explicit photos leaked on the Internet.
Even through all this, she was convinced that as long as she managed to win back Benedict’s affection, he
- would help her settle everything.
I did not burst her bubble. Instead, I just watched as she sank deeper and deeper into the trap. I even told Benedict to treat her a little better. I wanted to raise her up so that she could fall further. That way, she would
hurt more.
I needed to avenge Jeremy’s death.
Francis‘ gambling debts spiraled out of control. When he could no longer hide his doings, he sold Yvonne. The day the casino people came to get her, Yvonne called Benedict and begged him to save her. Unfortunately for her, I was the one who picked up the call. “Benedict will not save you. This is actually his plan, you see. You’re a murderer. Keeping you in prison isn’t enough punishment for you
Yvonne screamed hysterically, but I hung up, cutting off her last chance of salvation.
I looked at Benedict, who was standing in front of me. “Do you blame me?”
Benedict shook his head, his teeth tightly gritted. “I would’ve pulverized her if you hadn’t wanted to take revenge yourself.”
I nodded in satisfaction. At least he wasn’t blinded by love to the point that he had forgotten about Jeremy.
Later, I heard that Yvonne was beaten up and starved at the casino. She wasn’t allowed to wear any clothes and had to be submerged in cold water every day. Eventually, she gave in and agreed to prostitute herself.
After the first time, it became easier for her. Her life started becoming easier again.

It was then that I chose to report her to the police.
She was a murderer and now a prostitute. Either one of these charges would be enough to land her with a lifetime sentence.
I even hired an expensive lawyer for her so that she wouldn’t end up with a death sentence.
I wanted her to suffer in prison for the rest of her life in revenge for killing Jeremy.
