Chapter 15
The car rolled to a stop in front of the dance studio, but Joselyn suddenly clung to the door, refusing to get out. “Give me some time, Jarrett. I–I’m not ready yet.”
Jarrett’s gaze darkened slightly. His tone was firm and unwavering as he said, “No. He’s waited for you for a long time. Now that you’re finally here, he shouldn’t have to wait any longer.”
Joselyn froze. “He’s waited for me for a long time? You mean… he’s had a crush on me for years?”
Jarrett didn’t answer. He simply stepped out of the car, walked around to her side, and pulled the door open. Before she could react, he’d already taken her hand and helped her out.
Her heart pounded with anxiety, but she couldn’t fight his strength. Helpless, she followed him into the dance studio.
The moment she stepped inside, she was stunned.
The entire studio was designed exactly to her tastes–spacious floor–to–ceiling mirrors, polished wooden floors, and an entire wall dedicated to her dance photos.
It was obvious how much thought Jarrett had put into creating the perfect space just for her.
“Jarrett, this is incredible!” Joselyn couldn’t help but exclaim. Her earlier nervousness eased slightly.
Jarrett smiled. “I’m glad that you like it.”
Then, he turned toward the door. “I’ll go bring him in. Take a look around and let me know if you want any changes.”
Joselyn nodded. As soon as he left, she couldn’t resist turning on the music. As the melody filled the room, she moved instinctively. Her body spun gracefully, as if shaking off all her worries. When the music ended, she finally noticed Jarrett standing not far away and watching her with a faint smile.
“Jarrett! When did you come back?” Joselyn asked, slightly embarrassed.
“Just now,” he said gently as he approached. “Your dance was beautiful.”
She smiled, then suddenly remembered the real reason they were here. She looked past him and asked, “Where’s my fiancé? Didn’t you say you’d bring him over?”
Jarrett watched her with a deep gaze. “He’s already here.”
Joselyn blinked, confused. She looked around again. “No, he’s not. It’s just you. Is he outside?”
Jarrett shook his head and repeated firmly, “He’s already here.”
A loud buzzing filled Joselyn’s mind, as if she’d been struck by lightning. Her voice trembled. “Jarrett… are you saying… you’re my fiancé?”
Jarrett said nothing. He simply watched her, a mix of anticipation and nervousness flickering in his

eyes.
But he shook his head and said seriously, “I’m not joking, Josie. You were still young, so you never knew that I was adopted. I’ve treated you so well all these years. Did you really never notice that my feelings went beyond sibling affection?”
Memories flooded her mind.
When she’d been little, Jarrett had always given her the best of everything. If there was something fun or delicious, she was always the first person he thought of.
When she’d been in school, he’d picked her up and dropped her off, never hesitating to stand up for her when she’d been bullied.
Once, when Joselyn had had a school dance competition, he’d cleared his entire schedule just to be there and cheered for her from the front row.
Whenever she’d gotten sick, Jarrett would sit by her bed all night, taking care of her without a moment’s rest.
After she’d moved to Airedale, he’d always called to ask when she was coming home. Whenever she’d mentioned her boyfriend, there had been a hint of coldness and displeasure in his tone. It turned out it wasn’t just her imagination.
