I could clearly hear that Abigail’s breathing suddenly became heavy.
Her long eyelashes fluttered rapidly, and her gaze toward the was filled with disdain and
sarçasını.
“Shut up!”
She scolded me, “What makes you think you can talk about him? He’s a thousand times million times better than you!”
I gave a self–deprecating smile and didn’t say anything further.
Indeed, Joshua was great at sweet–talking and giving emotional support.
He had managed to charm Abigail completely, making her offer him all her resources and support him in his rise to fame as a popular star.
Such treatment was something none of the men who had been with her before had experienced.
I took a deep breath and looked at her calmly. “Abigail, don’t deceive yourself. You’ve clearly developed feelings for him. Why won’t you admit it?
“It’s better for you and Joshua if we get divorced sooner and move on from each other.”
Before I could finish my sentence, Abigail coldly scolded me, “Shut up, Samuel! You’re just my dog. I haven’t tormented you enough yet. How could I let
you leave?
“Get lost. I don’t want to see you!”
Abigail turned around and got into the car, leaving without looking back.
I carried the heavy bags, dragging my weary body to the street outside to hail a taxi.
It was scorching outside, and I felt uncomfortable under the sun. I could feel my breathing becoming labored.
Every step was torture.
I could feel my stomach churning like something was trying to surge out.
But I couldn’t give in; I had to push through to the station and get a taxi home.
After finally arriving home, a wave of dizziness and nausea hit me, rendering me speechless as I rushed to the bathroom to vomit uncontrollably.
My body was extremely weak, and I gasped for air, feeling my breathing become increasingly heavy.
After struggling fo wash my face, 1 collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
I didn’t know how long it had been when I groggily woke up. I picked up my phone and saw That Sophia and Abigail had bombarded me with calls.
There were also several missed calls from Rebecca.
1 hesitated briefly before returning Sophia’s call, asking, “Do you need something?”
Sophia let out a huge sigh of relief and said helplessly, “Man, you finally answered! I tried to reach you for three days straight!”
I was stunned. “What did you say, three days?”
I had just gone home after shopping for clothes with Abigail and napped. How could I have been out of contact for three days?
I grabbed my phone and glanced at the date, and I was immediately bewildered.
We had clearly gone out on Thursday; how was it now Sunday?
Could it be…
After I got home and vomited, I really fainted for three days?
“Oh no, I’m running out of time.”
It was already 6:00 PM, and the event started after 30 minutes. If I were late and got the work delayed, Abigail would definitely take the opportunity to cause trouble for me.
So, I quickly changed into a new outfit and was just about to head out when Abigail’s call came in again.
I answered and heard her icy reprimand. “What are you doing? Why haven’t you answered your phone? Do you know how important this auction is to me?
“You know the consequences if you mess up my cooperation with Rebecca, do you?”
She then said coldly, “Wear
that grav suit and get here before 6:30 pm!”
