Chapter 87
“Oh really? You’re still quite the dictator, aren’t you?”
1 sneered, shook off her hand, and cast a sharp gaze over her.
“What’s good for the goose is good for the garder. Since you’ve made such a big deal about. your affair with Joshua, what does it matter if I’m a little closer to Ms. Shepherd?”
Recently, the secret romance between Joshua and Abigail had become a hot topic and almost common knowledge.
She showed no desire to explain. Instead, she continued to do as she pleased.
She openly brought her little lover along to various public events. Everi when photos of them surfaced, she never offered a single explanation.
When I questioned her, she merely scoffed and retorted, “This is just part of my job. What right do you, a stay–at–home husband, have to criticize me?”
I was stunned for a while by Abigail’s cold words. I had never imagined that one day she would speak to me like this.
After that incident, I never inquired about her personal matters again.
After all, in her eyes, I had no right to question anything.
“I told you, those are just rumors.”
Abigail fixed her gaze on me and suddenly strode arrogantly in front of me.
Her eyes filled with disdain as she asked, “Samuel, as my husband, don’t you have even a little
trust in me?”
I was shocked by Abigail’s sense of entitlement. I furrowed my brows as I retorted, “Do you even realize what you’re saying?”
She openly brought various men home and shamelessly indulged in pleasure.
Not long ago, Joshua had publicly claimed that Abigail had his child! Were all these claims just lies?
Did she think that everything would simply disappear just because I trusted her?
Such words were utterly ridiculous!
Yet, no matter how furious I was, Abigail looked at me calmly, completely unruffled.
She smiled faintly, grabbed my wrist, and said softly, “Listen here, I’m your wife. If you don’t come with me, who do you think you can go with?
Chapter 87
“Don’t forget that there will be consequences If you upset me.”
Her voice was gentle, but the evident threats made my breath quicken and my heart race.
Every time Abigail spoke to me like this before, nothing good had ever come of it.
First, my sister passed away from a serious illness because she couldn’t afford treatment.
Then, Abigail cut off the funding for the medical research on my sister’s illness, leaving those affected without hope for survival.
I knew Abigail was doing this on purpose. She wanted to make me suffer in this way, forcing me to willingly become her dog.
If I offended her again this time, who knows what kind of madness she might direct at me?
I took a deep breath, looking at her with calm eyes as I asked, “What do you want from me?
“Wasn’t that night enough for you?”
Abigail froze, and after a brief pause, a flush quickly spread across her cheeks.
In anger, she raised her hand and slapped me hard.
“Samuel, you make me sick!”
I touched my cheek and gave a self–deprecating smile.
