“Joshua cares a lot about your relationship with him. Every time he sees me, he brings it up. Don’t you want to give him a proper status? Are you willing to watch him stay by your side as a lover? Do you want to see others insult your beloved and call him a shameless homewrecker?”
My words made Abigail freeze, and her face paled instantly.
Then, she suddenly became furious and glared at me. She clenched her teeth and said, “This is between you and me, Samuel! You’d better not drag anyone else into this. You hear me?”
I couldn’t help but feel amused when I saw the rage in her eyes.
“Stop deluding yourself, Abigail. How can Joshua be unrelated to this? He’s the man you’ve been dreaming about, the one you love the most! You’ve devoted most of your company’s resources to him, yet you can’t bear to publicly acknowledge him?”
I spoke with brutal clarity and no mercy.
However, Abigail only grew angrier. Her grip around my hand tightened as she spat, “That’s my own business! It has nothing to do with you. Don’t even dream about divorcing me!”
I stared at her in shock. I never expected to hear such words from her. At that moment, it felt as if Abigail was a complete stranger. She was acting like a feral beast who was fiercely protective of her young, ready to kill anyone who dared touch her weakness.
I sneered and replied calmly, “Stop this pointless struggle, Abigail. What you’re doing is harmful to me, yourself, and the people around you. Let me go, and for your own sake, let yourself go too, okay?”
I spoke with heartfelt sincerity.
I did it because I was done with her, and I didn’t want to see her flaunting another man in front of me anymore.
I asked, “Do you really find joy in this mutual torment, Abigail?”
Perhaps my question struck a nerve with her. Her face turned whiter if possible, and she shot back coldly, “You have no right to question me about this! I’m telling you now. It’s best if you keep your nose out of my affairs. Just follow what I’ve arranged for you without any resistance or questions. Understand?”
Her words made me scoff, and I retorted mockingly, “Stop spouting nonsense. As long as you agree to the divorce, I won’t meddle in your life any further.
“You better listen closely, Abigail Bardot. Whether you agree or not, I’m going to divorce you. If you insist on refusing, I’ll sue you. Just wait for the court summons.”
Having said my piece, I turned to leave.

After everything Abigail put me through, I was battered and bruised. I didn’t want to waste any more time on someone so meaningless to me.
To me, Abigail was the embodiment of a wasted life. I was tired of even looking at her, and I wanted to focus instead on accomplishing the things I wanted to do in the limited time I had left. I didn’t want to leave behind any regrets.
Over the years, countless men had flocked around Abigail. It was truly remarkable that Joshua had managed to stay by her side.
But if it wasn’t him, it would have been someone else. After all, there were plenty of men ready to take his place.
