Chapter 24
Hearing my words, Abigail’s face darkened noticeably.
She glared at me, her voice harshed. “Samuel, don’t push your luck! The fact that I even bothered to bring you food should be enough. Who are you to sit here picking and choosing?”
I closed the lid on the food container in front of me.
Looking at her calmly, I said, “Abigail, the doctor specifically said I can’t have heavy, oily, or salty foods, and I definitely can’t eat seafood. And…”
I glanced at the box of freshly cut mango, giving a bitter smile. “I’m allergic to mango. Didn’t you know that?”
As soon as I said it, her expression shifted sharply.
It was clear she hadn’t expected this. Every single item she’d brought happened to be something I couldn’t eat.
Her face flushed, and she demanded irritably, “How was I supposed to know that? You never told me!”
She was right. I hadn’t directly told her I was allergic to mango.
Back when we were together, she loved mangoes. I’d buy them for her often and even peel them by hand.
Before eating mangoes with her, I’d take allergy medicine to prevent a reaction.
Even with that, I’d still end up with a few small rashes on my skin. It was something that anyone who was paying attention would have noticed. But Abigail, who was absorbed in my affection, had never noticed.
Keeping my expression calm, I pulled up the video Zack had shown me and placed the phone in front of her.
“This video… Do you have anything to say about it?”
“What video?”
Looking confused, Abigail picked up my phone, curiosity flickering in her eyes as she glanced
at the screen.
When she saw the contents of the video, her face went pale.
“What is this? Where did you get this?”
She frantically tried to delete the video, but I watched her coldly and said in a calm voice,” Deleting it won’t help. I’ve already made a backup.”
As expected, Abigail panicked.
She stammered, trying to explain, “That… that was just drunken talk. It doesn’t mean anything.”
“Oh, really?”
I let out a bitter laugh, my voice low. “You looked pretty clear–headed to me. Isn’t this exactly why you married me? To make me suffer? Well, congratulations! You’ve succeeded.”
I thought she might try to explain herself or to deny it somehow. But she didn’t..
Her expression was unmistakably guilty.
Finally understanding the full extent of her betrayal, I gave a
overwhelming sadness rise within me.
“Abigail, you’re truly ruthless. I never would’ve guessed revenge.”

Maybe my words struck a nerve, because she suddenly glared at me, her voice dripping with venom as she spat, “That’s right, you’re absolutely right. I married you to make you suffer! You dumped me so heartlessly back then, and now you expect me to still have feelings for you? Samuel, we’re just paying each other back. Nothing more!”
Seeing her reveal her true colors, I couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.
Taking a deep breath, I said quietly, “You already have someone you love. I can tell you’r serious about Joshua. So why not just divorce me? Give your little lover a proper title, right?”
But Abigail only shook her head with a smirk.
Her voice was icy as she said, “Don’t kid yourself, Samuel. I told you long ago. I’ll never let you go. If you want a divorce, the only way is if you die.”
