Chapter 4
Everyone’s attention was on Mary, and no one noticed the little boy behind her.
Erika, however, started crying, “Jessica, why are you changing the topic? Does it really matter who that boy is? I’ve suffered so much for you, and you don’t feel any guilt?”

Collin stepped forward and hugged Erika, glaring at me with fury. “Jessica! You’re so stubborn and unrepentant! The issue isn’t about that boy -it’s that you were swapped! All these years, you’ve been taking what rightfully belongs to Erika, and she’s been suffering for you.”
The shareholders started mocking me too.
“Jessica, we watched you grow up. We always thought you were sensible, and that’s why
“But your behavior today is really disappointing.”

The look on their faces made it clear–it was like the saying, “When the wall falls, everyone pushes.”
I forced myself to stay calm and ignored their expressions. I turned to my mom and
‘said, “Mom, don’t you think that boy looks familiar?”
My mom, holding back tears, glanced at the video again and gasped. “Isn’t that William? What’s he doing with Mary? Did he find out his sister was swapped and not tell us?”
Everyone in the room froze and urged, “Quick, call William and ask him to come back!”
William was abroad on a business trip, and even if he dropped everything to come back, it would take two days.
We needed to address the issue at hand.
After a moment of thought, My dad suggested a paternity test. “Let’s have the DNA test.”
After all, no one knew for sure if the video had been tampered with. With Al technology being so advanced, it wouldn’t be difficult to alter it.
Seeing my mom was more sympathetic, Erika held her thigh and cried, “Mom, Dad, do you not want me? Do you want that imposter? The evidence is clear, but you still won’t accept me, insisting on a DNA test!”
Before everything was sorted out, Erika could still possibly be their daughter, so my parents couldn’t say anything harsh and tried to comfort her instead.
Once Erika calmed down a bit, we immediately went to the hospital for a DNA test. The results would take two days to come.
When my mom asked where Mary was, Erika’s face turned pale, and after a long silence, she finally managed to say, “She passed away a few months ago due to illness.”
