Chapter 9
Chapter9
Jordan drove me to his house,
I stood at the entrance, refusing to go inside.
“Elena will get mad,” I said.
Jordan said, “You have time to worry about others? Look at what shape you’re in.”
Besides the scrape on my hand, I was covered in dirty snow.
“Also, Hannah, look around. Does it look like any woman’s been here?”
“You’re not living together?” I asked.
“I never even got together with her,” he said.
Jordan tossed a contract onto me.
“Six months ago, she found me and proposed a deal. She didn’t want to be pressured into casting couch situations, so I pretended to be her boyfriend. In return, she helped me handle difficult clients.”

“We haven’t taken any photos together,” I said.
“You love taking photos, yet you don’t have any with your new love?”
“Thanks for the reminder. I’ll take some next time and show you,” I said.
Jordan laughed in frustration.
He suddenly propped his hand on the sofa, completely looming over me, full of pressure.
I couldn’t move. Even through my sweater, I could feel his warm body heat.
“I bought your time. You know what to do, right?” he said.
“I’ll refund you, Jordan. I’m really getting married,” I said.
He slid his hand down my shoulder, but stopped at my wrist.
“You’re getting married, but you’re still wearing the bracelet I gave you? That’s not appropriate, is it?”
