“I’m warning you, Maurice. Don’t de amthing stupid!”
Maurice snickered, wearing an aggressive expression. There was a heavy scent of alcohol wavering in the air as he exhaled toward Eloise. He had drunk quite a lot
tonight.
Mauler gripped her an. “Do you want to do it on the street or at the motel over there?” he asked suggestively.
Eloise was trying to break free from his grip, but Mandice was so strong that she couldn’t escape at all. She breathed out slowly, calming herself down.
“Does…Dors what you said back then still stand?–
“Huh?” Maurice asked, letting out aburp.
“You said you can take care of me, and you’ll give me 80,000 dollars a month.”
Upon hearing that, Maurice burst out laughing.
“You’re really just a money–minded bitch, aren’t you?
“Well, I can’t escape either way.”
“That’s a smart move, Eloise”
As Mauricelifted her chin, be loosened his grip on her.
“Look at this face. It’s worth 30,000 dollars, no doubt. But I’ll have to take a proper look first tonight.”
Eloise gave Maurice a brief smile before her gaze grew cold. Then, she lifted her leg and kicked toward Manice’s groin.
Maurice immediately screamed in pain and staggered backward. Eloise took advantage of this moment, picking up her bag, and ran out of the dark valley “You’re not getting away tonight, Eloise!”
Maurice sprinted after Eloise while grabbing his groin, following her around the bend.
At that moment, Eloise saw a person walking toward her, smoking. Without hesitation, she ran to the person
“Please help! Someone is chasing after me,” she begged in front of the person.
The alley was very dark. The person was standing backdit as well. Thus, Eloise couldn’t make out his features, but she felt him staring at her intensely for a long
while.
Just then, Maurice caught up to her. Flustered, Eloise hid behind the person. As she was worrying it the person would help her or not, he threw the cigarette onto the ground and walked toward Maurice.
The prison was tall, wearing jeans and a leather jacket. He landed a punch in Maurice’s face that left him dizzy, followed by a swift kick. When Maurice clenched his teeth and fought back, the person crouched, landing another punch to his belly,

Eloise was going to call the police. But when she saw how Maurice was crying out in agony on the ground, she put her phone back.
The person was still lacking Maurice, although the latter clearly didn’t have the strength to fight back anymore. The intensity was truly tenifying.
He couldn’t possibly be one of those guys from the mob or could he?
Eloise urged, “Stop.. Stop beating him!”
What if Maurice ended up dead if he kept going?
Upon hearing that, the person gave Maurice a final luck and turned to look at Eloise with hands tucked in his pockets
A faint light in the distance illuminated his face. Eloise still couldn’t see his features clearly, yet he had that ind of sharp, rugged handsomeness she couldn’t ignote.
He didn’t say a wood. She thanked him for his help, hastily turned, and ran away.
She suddenly felt like the person was more dangerous in comparison to Maurice, She let out a breath in relief the moment she got onto the subway.
There was also a quiet and empty road that led to the villa she had to walk through after getting down from the subway. She thought she might be overthinking it by Imagining someone was following her behind. She tumed around to take a look, only to find someone really was there.
