Upon hearing the details, Quincey was furious and went on a rant for a while before telling Eloise not to worry and that she had a way to handle it.
After Eloise hung up, Maria brought her a bowl of mac and cheese. “Ms. Sullivan, stay on the island for a few more days. There are many fun places here.”
Eloise thanked Maria and then said, “I’ve already caused you a lot of trouble, so I won’t stay any longer.”
“How could it be trouble? We’re family from now on.”
“Huh?”
“No, I mean, close like family.”
Eloise smiled. “Although I’ve only met Liam from the Robinson family, I feel like they’re all good people.”
“Of course. The Robinson family may hold a high position in Kingsbury as a really prestigious family, but they’ve always been low–key and friendly,”
Although Maria kept urging her to stay, Eloise left in the afternoon. When she returned to Cloudmere Residence, Quincey was already waiting for her.
“Ellie, look. The four of them are trending!” quincey excitedly waved her phone at her.
She walked over and saw the trending headline that read, “Sophia and Her Fiancé Spotted at the Police Station, Suspected of Being Detained.”
“Look at the comments below. Everyone’s guessing what they did–gambling, drinking, and even murder and arson. Some are even saying they’re involved in superstitious activities. We’ve got to hand it to this generation of Internet users and their imagination.”
Eloise glanced at the comment section and found it entertaining.
“Haven’t Sophia’s and Maureen’s teams clarified anything?”
“Right now, it’s just wild guesses. If they clarify, they’ll be admitting everything they did to you. Plus, they’re not stupid enough to clanty, especially since this involves the police.”
“Enough about them. By the way, do you have any updates on the offer from Turner Entertainment to let you join the cast?”
At the mention of this, Quincey’s eyes lit up. “Guess what?”
“What?
“They’re letting me continue in Mr. Hawking’s film.”
Eloise was also happy. “That’s great!”
“Humph! They probably had some new little star try for the role, but Mr. Hawking didn’t like her, so they’re letting me stay.”
“What did Mr. Hawking say?”
“He didn’t say much. He just told me to focus on acting
“That’s good.”
“However, the company won’t arrange for an assistant for me until a few days later. Can you help me for a few days?”
“You want me to be your assistant?”
“Just for a few days. It won’t interfere with your wedding.”
Eloise thought about it. Since she had already fallen out with Jacob and definitely wouldn’t be working as Sophia’s private doctor anymore, helping Quincey for a few days wasn’t a problem.
As they were talking, a car pulled up across from them.
Jacob got out first, followed by Sophia and Lily.
Lily had a dark expression, and when she saw Floise, she stormed over
“Eloise, the Kilbourne family gave you too much respect before, huh? A lowly, shameless person like you actually dared to call the police? Sophia is carrying my grandchild, and if anything happens to her, I won’t spare you!”
Eloise sneered and looked at Jacob. “You’d better hurry up and pull your mom away, or don’t blame me for speaking harshly!”
