Chapter 50
Eloise extended her hand, and Liam shook it.
“I’ll have to leave the island early tomorrow. I hope you treat this place like your own home and enjoy yourself.”
Eloise didn’t stay long at the party and went back to her room. Maria, knowing she hadn’t eaten, specially made her a plate of seafood pasta.
“Ms. Sullivan, Mr. Robinson reserved a room for you in the residence. You can stay there tonight.”
Eloise shook her head. “I want to stay here so I can talk with you, Maria
Maria smiled. “That’s fine, too. Mr. Robinson said you’re free to do as you like.”
The next day, the guests invited by Maureen began leaving the island.
In the afternoon, Maureen and her group were sitting under an umbrella outside, drinking coffee. When they saw Eloise come out of the house, they waved her over.
Eloise walked over with her arms crossed, thinking they were about to leave and wanted her to get ready, but instead, they introduced her to a man.
“Eloise, this is my brother, Maurice Lynn. You should have seen him at university,”
Eloise looked at Maurice, who was sizing her up. His gaze was so lewd that it made her very uncomfortable.
“Eloise, Maurice has liked you for a while. He kept it to himself before because you were dating Jacob, but now that you two broke up, you can consider him,” Sophia said.
Eloise scoffed. Were they out of their minds, introducing a boyfriend to her?
You haven’t changed and still look so beautiful.” Maurice stood up and walked to her back, trying to push her into sitting down.
Eloise stepped away from him. “Don’t touch me.”
Maurice shrugged. “Treally like you, but if we get together, you’ll need to change that temper.”
Eloise scotted. “You’re thinking too much.”
She was about to leave when Maurice spoke again, “I’ll give you 50,000 dollars a month. Isn’t that enough?”
She frowned, not believing her ears. She turned back and looked at the group, finally fixing her gaze on Jacob, who hadn’t said a word.
“Jacob, I’m not quite understanding what they mean. Do you?”
Jacob’s face darkened “Isn’t that why you got close to Liam?”
“Don’t play dumb. You just want to hook up with a rich guy and be his mistress. But Liam has better taste and won’t fall for you. Maurice’s always into something new and thinks you’re decent.
“Don’t worry. He’s generous. He won’t treat you badly.” Maureen mocked.
“Eloise, Maureen doesn’t mean any harm. She just wants to help you. I’ll make sure he buys you a house after two years, so you won’t need to rent anymore,” Sophia said with a kind expression.
“But one thing to note, though. You need to keep a low profile and can’t let my wife know about you,” Maurice quickly added.
Eloise couldn’t help but laugh. So, Maurice was married, and they weren’t introducing her to a boyfriend but offering her a position as a mistress.
And what gave them the right to humiliate her like this? Did she deserve this just because she had once been jacob’s girlfriend?
“Jacob, it’s you. It’s you who let them humiliate me like this!”
Jacobi lit a cigarette and took a deep drag. “What do you want? Do you want to keep being my mistress?””
Eloise stepped forward, grabbed the coffee on the table, and splashed it onto Jacob’s face. “Shameless!”
“Eloise, you’ve gone too far.” Sophia quickly tried to wipe his face.
Maureen nudged Maurice, who understood and pulled Eloise by the ann. “Let’s go to a room and talk”
“Let go of me!”
“I know you’re interested. How about I sweeten the deal? 80,000 dollars a month. Not bad, huh?”
“Don’t touch me!”
“Hey, drop the act. You really think you’re so pure?
Maurice pulled her a few steps away, but just then, Maria rushed over with a broom
“What are you doing on the Robinson family’s property?”
