Chapter 38
“What does this mean?” Jack asked.
Alexsaid, “1 heard that Mr. Robinson is here tonight, right?”
Jack thought for a moment. “Yes. Mr. Robinson is a friend of my friend.”
“Aurora Films under Robinson Group is investing in a period drama. The team is pretty impressive. If she can get into this project, even as a small supporting role, I’ll be willing to recruit her.”
Alex said this and returned to the private room, making his meaning clear. It Quincey could get a role, it would mean she had connections and resources, and he would be willing to sign her.
Jack looked at Quincey. “I can take you to Sophia’s private room, but to be honest, don’t get your hopes up too high.”
“I’ll go.” Quincey said.
“Think it over again. They will definitely make things difficult for you.
Quincey smiled bitterly. “Buddy, do I have any other choice?”
When Eloise saw Jack lead Quincey into Sophia’s room, her brows furtowed.
Sure enough, she heard Maureen sneer. “Quinery, did you come to the wrong door? Who are you to come here?“.
Jack smiled. “We’re all friends just getting to know each other.”
As he spoke, he opened a bottle of white wine, walked up to Liam, and greeted respectfully, “Mr. Robinson, it’s an honor for you to come to my small bar, Cheers to you!”
Then, he began drinking straight from the bottle, finishing, it in a few large golps, leaving everyone stunned.
Seeing Jack’s boldness, Liam raised his glass and took a sip.
“Quincey, come over,” Jack called Quincey over and introduced her to Liam. “She used to be an actress, but she quit after getting married. She’s recently interested in returning.”
At this point, Jack nudged Quincey.
Quincey picked up a glass of white wine and said, “Mr. Robinson, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Cheers to you!
She drank the entire glass in one go.
“Quincey, are you here to make us laugh? You want to act?” Maureen laughed. “Please, look in the mirror. It’s not your fault you’re ordinary–looking, but not knowing your place is.”
“Quincey, I’m the host today. I didn’t invite you, and there’s no seat left in here. How about we meet some other time?” Sophia said in a displeased tone.
“I don’t need a seat. I’m just here to liven things up,” Quincey replied, still smiling
She had prepared herself mentally for the mockery before entering, and she had to endure it.
“Jack” Jacob looked at Jack and furrowed his brows.
Jack clasped his hands together in apology. “Cut some slack.”
“Of course,” Maureen chimed in. She had the walter bring out ten glasses, line them up, and fill them with white wine. “Quincey, we’re old classmates. I want to help you, but let’s see if you’re sincere.”
“I’ll drink for her,” Jack said.
“Jack, cut me some slack, too,” Maureen said, annoyed,
“I’ll donkit,” Quiorry said.
She took a deep breath, picked up a glass, and looked at Liam, “Mr. Robinson, my name is Quincey Loewe. I’ll be very grateful if you remember me later and give
She drank that glass, but it felt like she was drinking her own tears. There was no other way. She had to lower herself to the lowest point.
When Eloise came in, Quincey had already drink five glasses, barely able to stand but still forcing herself to drink more.
Eloise quickly ran over, supported Quincey from behind, and then looked at the others. “I’ll drink for her!”
Before anyone could read, she picked up a glass and drank it all.
