Chapter 36
Sophia asked, “Is this about what happened before? It’s been so many years. Can’t you just apologize?”
“I have things to do. I’m leaving.”
As Jacob turned to leave, Sophia hurriedly grabbed his arm and pleaded, “Jacob, lielp me. You wouldn’t want to see me upset, would you?”
Jacob sighed and didn’t leave.
At that moment, Maureen came out of the private room. “What’s going on with you two? I invited Liam over, and here you are, chatting outside instead of going
Sophia pulled Jacob toward the room. “Maybe that cooperation project of yours can still be discussed.”
“There’s nothing more to discuss.”
Maureen remembered something and looked at Eloise, smiling before even speaking. “Eloise, do you know that person just now?
Eloise frowned. Why was she asking her that?
“No.”
Maureen laughed harder and waved for Sophia to come over. “Look at her. She’s a joke..”
Sophia cealized it, too, and laughed, but she still pretended to be concerned for Eloise “Floise, what should we do? I’m really worried you’ll get blasted online
again.”
Quincey sarcastically said, “Are you two playing a guessing game? What’s so funny?
Maureen glared at Quincey before turning back to Eloise, holding back her laughter. “Didn’t you say that your fiancé bought you a unit at Cloudmere Residence?”
Eloise frowned. She never said that, but Sophia clearly had passed it on to Maureen like that.
“Hal You don’t know that person just now?”
“What exactly are you trying to say?!
“He’s the owner of No. & Cloudmere Residence!”
Eloise froze. How was that possible?
“So, by your logic, Liam is your fiancé? Eloise, are you out of your mind? He’s from the Robinson family! You should know them, right?
“They started in the shipping industry, and they’re now involved in real estate, tech, and entertainment, dominating all of them. They’ve built a commercial empire! Even if you’re dreaming, you shouldn’t dream of marrying into the Robinson family. Isn’t that just delusional?”
Maureen, don’t say that. It’s embarrassing for Eloise.” Sophia pretended to care.
“How ridiculous it is that you even posted a fake property deed. He owns too many properties, though I don’t low how you managed to rent one, but it’s just renting. Be realistic. Otherwise, you’ll be the embarrassed one,” Maureen said with disdain.
Quincey put her hands on her hips and yelled, “What nonsense are you talking about? That residence is Eloise’s!”
Maureen snorted and was too lazy to argue with Quincey, “Sophia, don’t bother with them. We’ve got serious matters tonight.”
“Okay.” Sophia pulled Jacob again, tookone last glance at Eloise, and went inside with Maureen.
Jacob, who was walking behind, was angry and had nowhere to vent. When he reached Elise, he shouted, “If you have no place to live, I’ll buy you one! Don’t embarrass me anymore!”
Eloise snorted, “What does it have to do with you? What am I i embarrassing you tot?”
He huffed. “We’re going to see houses tomorrow. Pick whichever one you like. I’ll buy it for you, then move out of that residence!TM
After saying this, Jacob walked toward the private room.
Eloise blinked. “Is he out of his mind?”
Quincey nodded. “Definitely got a big problem. But is that residence really from your fiancé? He’s not tricking you, is he?”
