Chapter 64
Gabriella sneered. “Why can’t you get the herbs from a store? Why do you have to gather it yourself? I swear, we would’ve been deeply moved it you hadn’t gone through the forced marriage route first.”
Rylie looked at Gabriella and asked, “Do you know how many kinds of herbs there are in the world?”
“How would I know?” Gabriella rolled her eyes.
-well, do you know how many herbs there are in the key ingredients?”
Kylie’s lips twitched. “If you don’t even know about them, then how are they available in stores?”
“Why, you!” cabriella was stumped, and her face tell.
Kylie then began, “According to the Compendium of Sinovian Herbs, 1999 edition, there are a total of 8,980 traditional herbs in existence. If you consider the berts that minority tribes use, that will push the number up to over 12,500.
“On top of that, the number of herbs being discovered constantly increases every year. No drug store can guarantee they have every single type of herb…”
“That’s enough,” Liana spoke up, interupting Kylie. She held her cup of tea and raised an eyebrow to look at her.
“We’re well aware of how masterful your medical skills are. There’s no need to show off and be aggressive to us amateurs. It’ll only further strengthen the fact that you’re an orphan who has received no education or discipline,” she icily said.
Kylie had to think of the bigger picture here. After all, the last thing she wanted was for her relationship with Liana to go sour.
Not intending to stay and be ridiculed any further, Kylie got ready to leave.
“If that’s all, I’ll be talding my leave,” she quickly said and lett the Vance residence.
The Vances watched her retreating figure, each bearing their own schemes in mind.
Gabriella was thrilled when she noticed the grim expression on Liana’s face. She said, “Ms. Clark is really a plece of work. Everyone knows how respectful Samuel is. Not even he would’ve treated Lians that way.”
Miranda giggled and casually said, “It looks like we’re about to see some drastic changes in the Vance family.”
“It won’t come to pass With Liana around, Ms. Clark won’t be able to change anything despite her best efforts, Judging by what she’s done, I have a strong feeling that she’d planned the whole accident of falling into the pool.
“Being relentlessly clingy and annoying will only make a man feel disgusted, which is why her way was particularly cunning. It worries me.”
Gabriella went along with Miranda and bad–mouthed Kylie. All the while, they observed Liana’s expression.
“Samuel is my son, and I never had to worry about him ever since he was a little boy. I have faith that he will handle this matter competently.” Liana sat on the couch and remained composed.
She put her teacup on the coffee table and tumed sideways to look at Wenford. “Wenford, how about we check on Dad?
“Let’s go.” Wenford got up from the couch.
Upon seeing this, the other Vances followed suit into Vincent’s room.
Once Kylie left the Vance residence, she gave Samuel a call, telling him that she had to retum to Staflight Summit to gather some herbs.
At that moment, Samuel seemned to be busy with something and simply said, “Olay.” Then, he hung up.
Starlight Summit was a famous tourist spot in Seville, and this meant that buses would take its passengers straight to the foot of the mountain. Kylie bought herself a ticket and rode the bus for
