The maids were cleaning the house downstairs. As Liana descended the stairs, her expression darkened when she noticed that Kylie wasn’t there
“Go and bring her here,” the commanded the butler. She believed Kylie had no sense of discipline for sleeping until this Late hour.
Liana sat down by the coffee table, holding her cup of coffee. past as she was about to take a sip, the villa’s front door opened from the outside
Upon hearing the commotion, she immediately looked over. She was surprised to see a tall, imposing man standing at the entrance.
“Samuel? Weren’t you on a business trip to Oakheart? Why are you back so soon?→
Samuel greeted her before his sharp eyes swept over the room. Then, he got straight to the point and asked, “Where is she?
Liana stared at her son as if he were a stranger. She wondered it this was her child. He was supposed to let Kylie five like a widow, but what he was doing now was the opposite!
A long silence filled the living room
She set her cup firmly on the table, her voice laced with displeasure. “You come home from a business trip just to ask for her? Do you think I’ll mistreat her or something?
“That’s not what I meant.” Samuel stood tall and composed, his features calm, showing no emotions. Exhaustion did nothing to diminish his noble and charming ¡demeanor, even after a long flight “Grandpa isn’t feeling well. I’m here to take her to check on him.”
“Dan, bring Ms. Clark bere,” Liana instructed, adding with a sneer, “I don’t want Mr. Vance to think that I’m treating her badly.”
At this moment, the butler exchanged glances with the middle–aged maid, who instructed Kylie to clean the pool. The maid understood the silent signal and stepped forward to report, “Mrs. Vance, when I was about to clean the swimming pool this maming, M. Clarktold me she would do it herself.”
And you just let her?” Samarl’s face darkened.
The maid flinched and stuttered, “II told her not to, but she insisted. She said she wanted to leave a good impression on everyone.”
Before she could finish, Samuel dashed for the rooftop pool.
Kylie’s consciousness was fading. She was entirely submerged in the water. In her daze, she believed she saw a tall figure approaching.
she didn’t know if she should feel relief or sadness that even in a moment like this, she could only think of Samuel.
A fortune teller once predicted that she was destined to face a major disaster. Whether she could survive depended on her fate. Kylie wondered if today was the day she would die.
Meanwhile, Samuel felt a sudden, fleeting panic across him when he saw her drowning in the pool. Before he could even process his emotions, he was ready to jump in without hesitation. But Läana came after him and pulled his ann, stopping him.
Samuel! You don’t have to go in, just get the maids to pull her out!” she screamed,
“No! Call Sebastian and get the ambulance!” with that, Samuel dove into the water without waiting for another second.
He swam to Kylie, drew her into his arms, and quickly carried her to the edge.
“Hurry! Get me a towell Liana grabbed a towel from the maid and tried to dry him off, but he pushed her hand away and focused entirely on kylie.
“Kylie! I command you to wake up! Grandpa still needs you. You can’t die!”
His shouts echoed through the entire estate. Alissa, Pelet, and Wade nished over after heating the commotion
briella mirked when she saw w the scene. “Oh my, what happened?”
Yvonne, just like her mother, enjoyed stirring up trouble. “Is she dead? We were waiting for her to check on Grandpa, and now she pulls this stunt?
“Is she doing this because she doesn’t trust her medical skills, or is she trying to prove her importance to the Vance family!
*Shut up! No one needs your opinion!” Samuel snapped.
His rage made Yvonne shudder. Among the entire Vance family, the one she teared the most was him, Samuel had always been unnaturally intelligent and enmposed, and be barely expressed emotion. This was the first time she saw him lose his control like this.
Chills ran downther spine as she saw the storm developing in his eyes.

Stop talking, and don’t disturb Samuel!” Alissa slammed her race against the floor. “Everyone back up now to let the air circulate properly!” Suddenly, Kylie gasped and spal out the water she had swallowed, she begancoughing as if she was trying to get all the water out of her bangs. She struggled to sit upright. Samuel instinctively reached out to support her and gently patted her back to help her breathe.
Chapte 37
When she turned her head and saw his face, her nose tingled, and her eyes tumed red with tears pooling in them. “Samuel? When did you come back? Was it you who saved me?”
Instead of answering, Samuel asked, “What happened?”
“I came to dean the pool, but someone pushed me in,” Kylie explained briefly.
When Liana heard her explanation, she said coldly, “You grew up in a sanctuary, so you don’t understand social etiquette. I didn’t ask you to stay to do maid duties. 1 have plenty of maids for that.”
Yvonne sneered. “Who knows whether she’s telling the truth? Maybe she wanted to show off by working, but she couldn’t handle it and ended up falling into the
water.”
“That’s enough. Stop talking.” Gabriella pulled on her daughter’s sleeve.
Yvonne pouted and muttered, “She’s the one who started this mess. Perhaps she just wanted attention.”
“Samuel, your clothes are drenched. Dry it off quickly.” Liana brought him a towel and looked at him with concem.
Samuel took the towel, but instead of drying himself, he wrapped it around Kylie. Then, without hesitation, he lifted her into his arms and walked downstates.
Sebastian was waiting on the first floor. Since he couldn’t reach Kylie, Samuel Instructed him to go directly to the main floor to check on Vincent. It had only taken him a few minutes to get there.
“What happened?” Sebastian was shocked to see both of them dripping wet.
“Check on her condition” Samuel’s expression was grim.
Then, turning to a nearby maid, he ordered, “Bring me a blanket.”
“Yes, sir.”
Sebastian immediately stepped forward to examine Kylie while Samuel stood by, his dark eyes locked onto her.
