Chapter 98
Joseph didn’t respond, but Felix chuckled and answered for him. “Not quite. Mr. Castro was sent by the family to get hands–on experience. He’ll be taking over the family business in a couple of years. ”
Vanessa’s heart skipped a beat Castro could it be that Castro family? The one from Red Circle?
This rehab center catered to elite clients, and while there’d always been rumors about who owned it, no one had ever been able to dig up the truth. It turned out the Castro family backed it.
And this guy sitting here, casually scrolling on his phone, wasn’t just any representative he was the future head of it all.
Her nerves instantly kicked up to the max. If she could lock in this deal with him, there was a real shot at getting every medical facility under the Castro family’s name to start sourcing from her. That kind of win would secure her transfer to HQ–and her place once she got there…
But to her rustration, Joseph didn’t seem interested at all. No matter how hard she tried to steer the conversation or charm her way in, he kept his head down, scrolling through his phone like he was bored out of his mind.
Being ignored completely was a slap in the face for someone as seasoned as Vanessa. She’d never had a prospect blow her off so blatantly
Meanwhile, Ennica sat quietly, eyes lowered, barely saying a word.
vanessa felt a fresh wave of imitation. This was supposed to be the moment Enrica proved her worth–but here she was, clammed up like a statue. Maybe sh misjudged her after all. At least Zara had chimed in a few times.
Finally, after what felt like forever, Joseph put down his phone. Vanessa jumped at the chance. “Mr. Castro, I’ve heard—”
Vanessa was just warming up when Joseph looked straight at Enrica. His expression shifted, surprised but uncertain. “Are you Enrica Schubert?”
She hadn’t expected him to recognize her but quickly replied, “Hey, Joseph.”
Back in college, he’d been the president of the photography club. She’d joined just out of interest and gone on a few shoots with the group. Berater Sheila joined and, for reasons she never understood, started picking on her constantly, she ended up quitting
She never imagined that years later, not only would she run into Joseph again–but he’d actually remember her.
She had recognized him earlier, of course. But with who he was now, she didn’t dare speak first, afraid he’d think she was trying to climb the social ladder.
Now that he’d acknowledged her, she didn’t hesitate to retum the greeting.
Joseph looked genuinely surprised and pleased. “Wow, it really is you. You haven’t changed a bit. You doing okay?”
Enrica smiled lightly. “I’m doing alright. Probably not doing as well as you, though.”
He waved a hand. “I’m just coasting. So you’re in pharmaceuticals now?”
Upon seeing him steer the conversation toward work, she jumped at the opportunity. “Yes, I’m a medical rep now. Our company just launched two new medications. -they’re incredibly effective in treating and preventing Alzheimer’s. We also have-”
She pulled out her folder and began walking him through each product.
Joseph actually seemed interested. He listened attentively, then turned to her and said, “You’re my junior, of course, I’ll support you. Let’s have Felix’s center run à trial with your products. If everything checks out, we’ll consider rolling it out across the whole group.”
Felix immediately chimed in. Absolutely. We’ll arrange everything.”
Enrica blinked in disbelief, then quickly thanked him. “Thank you, Joseph. I promise our mods are top–tier. You won’t be disappointed.”
Off to the side, Vanessa and Zara were still trying to process what had just happened. They were completely blindsided by the jackpot that had just tallen into their laps
