Miguel was already waiting to block Rohana on the way in
Chapter 88
At the back entrance of the hotel, tobana was feeling uneasy. As much as she didn’t think the I done anything wrong, the fury in Miguel’s voice earlier had seriously rattled het. She figured she’d better slip away before he could show up.
Too bad for her just as she stepped out the back, a cab screeched to a step in front of her. The door thong open, and Miguel climbed out, his expression looking thunderous. He stamaned the door shut and grabbed her by the amm. “Where do you think you’re going?
If he hadn’t already guessed she’d try to bolt, he might’ve actually missed her.
She jumped in fright. “Jesus, Miggy Do you have to pop up out of nowhere like that?
Still seething. Miguel vanked her into a quiet comer
She winced, trying to pull away. “You’re hurting mel”
“Good. Maybe the pain will finally teach you something!” he snapped, glaring at her. “What the hell were you planning to do to Enrica?”
“She’s just some outsider!” Rohana snapped, stomping her foot. “You’re divorced! Why are you still acting like you owe her something? Or don’t tell me… you still can’t let high? What about Shella? Where does she fit into all this?”
“This has nothing to do with Sheila!” Miguel growled, his brow furrowed tight. “Don’t drag her into this. Did you drug Enrica or not? And where the hell were you taking her?
Rohana bit her lip. “I didn’t…”
“Tell me the truth,” he warned, his tone low and threatening. “Although I’m your brother, I won’t let you keep running wild. What exactly were you trying to do?”
back slightly–ever since they were kids, Miguel was the one person she was afraid of when he was angry.
She shi
“I gave her something to knock her out,” she mumbled, avoiding his eyes, then puffed up her chest in fake confidence. “I just arranged for a few guys to shoot a video with her, that’s all I’m just sick of how smug she acts around us.
“She’s not even part of our family anymore. She dared sue us and even forced us to drop the case! I was just trying to put her in her place.”
Miguel stared at her indisbelief, disappointment flickering in his eyes. Sure, he’d always known she liked to make things hard for Enrica, but it was usually small, petry stuff–typical family drama. Nothing worth blowing up over. Plus, Enrica wasn’t totally innocent either.
For the sake of peace, he’d always looked the other way.
But drugging Encica and sending men after her. And even filming the whole thing?
“No matter what she’s done, she was still your sister–in–law once. She left the Zucker family, yes–but you were gonna force her into that kind of video and leak it online? Do you want the entire city to laugh at us?” he barked, trying to contain his rage. “Rohana, when did you get this evil?
She scowled, not the least bit ashamed. “Evil? Seriously? It’s just a video! It’s not like I killed her. She crossed a line with us first! She’s got no respect. I was past teaching her a lesson”
Miguel’s expression turned stone cold. He had to take a few deep breaths just to keep himself from completely losing it. Then he gritted through his teeth, “Do you even know why I dropped the lawsuit?”
Rohana blinked, then hutted, “Because she probably seduced you or something.”
Why else would Sheila be so heartbroken?
Miguel shot her a look, equal parts angry and disappointed. “Because someone’s protecting Enrica! Zucker Group took a massive hit not long ago–almost completely collapsed. And it was all because of her.
“That lawyer of hers? He’s no joke. Word is, he warned us–mess with the wrong person again, and Zucker Group is done for. Got it?”
