I searched the house with a mix of emotions swirling inside me.
After a thorough search, I found four miniature cameras.
I never imagined there would be so many.
The camera in the living room covered the entire area, capturing everything that happened
in the room.
The one in the bathroom was placed above the sink.
In our bedroom another camera was hidden behind our wedding photo

The kitchen camera had a direct view of me as I cooked.

A wave of unease washed over me. I quickly turned to social media to see what I could find. Not long after, I came across Devin’s account. He had clearly blocked me from his profile.
His account had almost a million followers.
All his videos were designed to elevate his image while painting me as a greedy, lazy, and
promiscuous woman. The comments were unbearable.
[What so good about this rich young lady? She should be at home, cooking and cleaning as a good housewife!]
[If I were Mr. Murray, I would’ve divorced this lazy, greedy woman a long time ago!]
[Mr. Murray is such a great man…]
Devin had never directly responded to any of these comments.
I watched the videos with thousands of likes, realizing that he had already begun endorsing
products, even before Carly’s condition worsened.
I wiped the tears from my eyes, the sorrow suffocating me. I bent forward, coughing. The
tears that had pooled in my eyes slid into my mouth, bitter and salty.
I cried for a long time. When I woke up, dawn was breaking.
I put everything back in place, copied all the videos from the cameras, and then headed to
the law office.
But before that, I stopped at the villa district across the street.
I rang Eileen’s doorbell.
“I need to talk to Carly,” I ignored her stunned look and said directly.
Perhaps because I had never spoken to her so firmly before, Eileen didn’t argue. She quickly brought Carly out.
I couldn’t help but notice the lavish interior of the villa. Thinking back on the years I had pinched pennies, a wave of bitterness surged within me.
I felt miserable.
Carly, as usual, refused to be close to me.
Considering that the divorce should involve the child’s opinion, I patiently squatted down and asked, “Carly, would you be upset if your dad and I separated? That doll in your hands…did you get it from Celestial Mall? Carly, I know you’re better now. Did your dad say something to you that made you keep your distance from me?” When I said this, Carly paused for a moment, her fingers still fiddling with her doll, and she didn’t speak.
“Carly, lying is wrong!” I raised my voice, but Carly burst into tears.
The noise soon drew Eileen’s anger. She pulled Carly into her arms, glaring at me and
ordering me to leave.
“Mrs. Murray, my home doesn’t welcome you. Please leave!” Seeing Carly nestle into Eileen’s arms, my heart shattered completely.
I didn’t understand why Carly lied to me.
† couldn’t understand why, if Devin loved Eileen so much, he didn’t just divorce me.

After that encounter, I quickly got the divorce papers and sent them to Eileen’s villa.
Ten days later, Devin was released.

When he saw me holding flowers at the police station entrance, he immediately frowned. He hurried over, grabbed my wrist, and pulled me aside, scolding me. “You want everyone to know I was at the police station, don’t you? You refused to pay my fine. If it weren’t for Eileen, I’d still be stuck in there!” He always liked to play the victim so that he could take the dominant position.
I didn’t respond. Instead, I looked past him towards the reporters waiting behind him.
I gave them a signal, and the reporters immediately swarmed around Devin.
“Mr. Murray, were you driving under the influence? We’ve heard you were driving with a third arty. Can you confirm this?”
“We received an anonymous video showing evidence of you mentally abusing your wife. How do you explain that?”
“Your wife says your daughter doesn’t actually have aphasia. Was your crowdfunding
campaign a scam?”
Faced with these questions, the usually smooth–talking Devin seemed completely rattled.
He looked at me, hoping I would step in to defend him.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Carly pushed her way through the crowd and stood in front of him.
With her head held high, she shouted, “My dad didn’t lie! It’s all Theresa, that bad woman! She drugged me so I couldn’t speak!”
