Chapter 47
It was 4:00 am on the 25th floor of Building A in Riverside Residence. Simon and Sam arrived at the same time, both carrying gifts and intending to visit Ethan privately. However, despite their repeated knocks, there was no response from inside.
“What’s going on? Is Mr. Walker still sleeping?” Sam pressed his ear to the door, trying to catch any sound from inside.
“It’s possible. At his age, it’s normal to sleep in. Simon agreed, analyzing the situation
The door opened, but it wasn’t Ethan’s door. It was the one across from his, belonging to the Bennett family.
“Dr. Brooke? Professor Carter?”
Jayce and Alexa, who were about to leave, froze in surprise. Seeing Simon and Sam together was rare, and meeting them both here simultaneously was even more unexpected
“What brings you two here so early?
Something significant must have happened if they were both here at this hour.
“We came to visit this household, but it seems there’s no one at home.”
“Are you looking for Ethan?|
“Ethan?”
This time, it was Simon and Sam who were taken aback. The way Jayce and Alexia addressed Erhan clearly showed their close bond.
“If you’re looking for Ethan, that’s a bit unfortunate. He should be at Treasure Hall by now,”
“Treasure Hall? What’s he doing there?”
Treasure Hall was where people bought and sold various antiques, jewelry, calligraphy, and paintings. Did Ethan have a particular interest in these things? Simon and Sam exchanged glances, both holding gifts related to health and wellness such as herbs and teas, nothing like what one might associate with antiques. “Mr. Newman invited him. He wanted to show him his expertise using Pristine Gemcraft.”
Jayce and Alexia would have liked to accompany him to witness it for themselves if it weren’t for work.
“Thanks for letting us know! This is a small token of appreciation. Please accept it.” Upon leaming that Ethan was at the Treasure Hall, the two quickly decided to pass on the unsuitable gifts to Jayce,
They agreed to pick a more fitting present for Ethan once they arrived at the Treasure Hall Knowing his preferences and choosing accordingly was the key to making a good impression.
Watching the elderly men hurry into the elevator, Jayce and Alexda couldn’t help but feel as though they were still half asleep. The famous Simon and Sam had just handed them lits
Covering over two and a half acres and three floors, Treasure Hall was one of the largest antique trading markets in Silverbank City, catering to everything related to antiques and fine jewelry Industry insiders highly regarded it
This was largely due to its owner, Xavier Newman, a master appraiser,
He was Treasure Hall’s living advertisement. While other shops hired appraisers, their store had an appraiser for an owner, which meant their product quality control was top–notch and rigorously maintained.
