Chapter 43
After Xavier left, Jayce and his family took turns explaining his rise to success, recounting his history in such glowing terms that one might think they were paid to praise him
It wasn’t until after 9:00 pm that Ethan finally returned home. As he studied his new phone, he inadvertently fell asleep.
Meamsale, in the teacher’s dormitory of Silverbank Alterative Medicine Academy, Sam finally had time to sit down, open his email, and review the theses submitted by his students after witnessing a miracle at the hospital.
Though there was a final submission deadline, some top students always managed to submit their work early. To his surprise, Jessie’s thesis was among the early submissions this time.
“Well, this is a rare occurrence,” he mused as he opened the email containing her paper. He began sipping a cup of tea he had just bri
d just brewed. However, when he began reading the content of the email, he couldn’t hold back and accidentally spat tea on his computer screen. Was this really written by Jessie?
Worried he might be mistaken, he quickly put on his glasses, scrolled back to the start of the email, and began reading word by word, his expression shitting from surprise to sheer shock. It took him over half an hour to finish reviewing the paper,
Remarkable! Absolutely remarkable! This paper is excellently written!”
After carefully reviewing the paper, he found the quality to be outstanding. The thesis was clear, well–structured, and logically sound. She had thoroughly explored the subject using scientific research methods, and the conclusions drawn were reasonable and highly persuasive.
Even he had to admit that he couldn’t write a paper of such high caliber.
This paper would likely be the best of all submissions unless something unexpected happened.
But wait, how could Jessie, with her abilities, write such a well–structured paper? Has she finally had a breakthrough?”
Among her peers, Jessie had always been in the middle–upper range academically. However, she was more practical and hands–on than strong in theory, and writing papers had always been her weakness. She always submitted her assignments at the last minute.
This time, though, she had broken the norm and provided a pleasant surprise, leaving Sam suspicions.
“I need to ask her tomorrow. There must be some expert guidance behind this paper. Expect…” he thought.
Suddenly, a flash of insight struck him, and Ethan’s image appeared in his mind. Right. He had seen Ethan earlier at the hospital. According to Simon, he was Serena’s younger brother So, that meant he was Jessie’s brother too.
“Could it be that this paper was written under Mr. Walker’s guidance?” he thought.
Sam immediately searched for Jessie’s previous papers and compared them. The styles were completely different. Even if someone had provided guidance, it didn’t explain the complete change in her writing style.
“Could it be “A bold thought crossed his mind. Had Ethan written the paper for her? The more he thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
“No wonder she submitted the paper so quickly. It turns out she hired someone to write it for her!”
Having pieced together the truth, be paced back and forth in his room, conflicted.
The evaluation committee for this assignment consisted of five members, including him as the medical professor. His evaluation carried the most weight,
Since the inbox was public, other evaluators could also see the papers. With such a stark difference in style, it would be easy for the others to spot that the paper had been ghostwriter.
