Chapter 30
Out of options, Daniel resorted to using his phone to message his family for help.
The Webbs had connections with many martial artists, and he refused to believe that no one could cure him. Once he recovered, he vowed to make Ethan pay the price.
Half an hour later, at the luxurious Crystal Cove Villa No. 9, Dariel and his two bodyguards were sitting on the couch as several physicians examined them.
“What’s wrong with Dartel? Triston Webb asked impatiently.
“Apologies, Mr. Webb Senior, but Mr. Daniel’s body is in perfect condition. We can’t find anything abnomal,”
“If everything’s normal, why can’t he speak?”
“That… We don’t know.” The physicians were at a loss.
In their decades of practice, they had encountered countless care and complex illnesses, but this was a first.
Typically, even if someone couldn’t speak, they could identify a cause whether it was physical or neurological. But Dariel’s case was baffling as no clear cause could be found.
“Based on the incident Mr. Dariel described, it seems he was struck by the other party using some kind of physical force, which caused his current condition. Perhaps you could consider consulting internal martial artists. They could shed some light on this.”
Listening to the advice of the few physicians, Trist on lightly tapped the armrest of the armchair, seemingly deep in thought.
“Go to Mr. Ziegler Senior’s residence and invite Mr Dudley over,” he instructed. But almost immediately, he changed his mind. “No, forget it. Prepare the car. I’ll personally take Dariel to visit him.”
None of those internal martial artists could compare to Andres Dudley, Denzel’s personal bodyguard.
It was said that he took on a martial arts master at a young age. After joining the army in his early years, he was taken under Denzel’s wing, and now, even within the military, he was considered the best of the best.
Having him examine Danel was undoubtedly the most reliable choice.
After the earlier incident with Daniel, Ethan wasn’t in the mood to go shopping. Even though Lily insisted on buying him clothes, he repeatedly refused.
Sher
reventually relented, considering she still needed to prepare dinner for him at her home later. She returned to her house to help her parents, leaving him to rest at home.
However, being alone didn’t suit him. After playing around with his new phone for a while, he decided to head out and explore the neighborhood, much like a retired elder enjoying a stroll.
As he walked, he was struck by the sheer size of the complex.
It was now 3:00 pm, and many elderly residents were gathered in groups, chatting over tea to pass the time. When he came across a chess game, Ethan even stopped to watch for a bit.
Then, as he passed an open exercise area, something caught his eye–someone practicing swordsmanship.
After observing for a moment, he realized the person was practicing the Zenith–style swordsmanship
However, their posture was imperfect, and several movements were outright wrong if they continued practicing this way, it wouldn’t just fail to improve their health–it might even cause long–term harm.
“Something on your mind, young man? You’ve been standing there watching for a while. Are you interested in swordsmanship?”
Denzel had already noticed Ethan’s presence and initiated a conversation just as Erhan silently critiqued his technique,
