Chapter 26
Julian’s first words weren’t those of concem upon seeing Estelle bleeding and injured. Instead, they were, “Do you realize your mistake now?”
Upon seeing her in this state, even a stranger on the street would at least ask if she was okay. Yet her husband was still waiting for her to bow her head and admit
Estelle couldn’t help but laugh.
Julian Troward. “What’s so funny?”
She wiped the blood from her forehead. The rotten vegetable leaves and the stickor residue of eggs clung to her body. She looked disheveled. “I’m laughing at myself for wasting years of devotion on someone who never cared.”
She didn’t bother tidying up anymore. Instead, she looked straight into Julian’s eyes, her expression indifferent. “So, this is your way of making me regret it? Letting the intemet harass me and sending a mob to surround me? All for your dear Susan?”
Julian was silent for a few seconds. “You think I was behind this?”
“Wasn’t it you?” Estelle chuckled. “I just moved Into a new place. Even with the netizens digging, there’s no way they could’ve found me so quickly. Who else could have led them straight to me? Didn’t you have Zachary deliver a message? That I would regret this?“.
She met his gaze head–on. “If you can’t bear to see Susan suffer, why don’t you just divorce me? That way, the two of you can finally be together, out in the open.
A flicker of anger crossed Julian’s face. “Estelle, I’ve already explained countless times. There’s nothing between me and Susan. Can you stop making a scene over this?
Estelle smirked. “If you won’t divorce me, then be prepared for me to keep malding a scene.”
Julian’s gaze tumed cold. “So, you’re planning to keep being stubborn?
“Yes
never com
Julian let out a cold laugh, anger burning in his eyes. “Fine. I hope you never come crawling to me for help.”
With that, Julian’s car sped away.
A day and a night passed, yet the storm surrounding Estelle showed no signs of dying down.
Julian remained silent, making no effort to speakcup for Estelle or suppress the news. His inaction was as good as a silent admission of guilt, turning her into a target for public outrage.
Julian stayed silent, but
at Susan made a move. She posted on Twitter.
“My hospitalization had nothing to do with Ms. Summer. The Incident at the lake was purely accidental. We’ve already come to an understanding, and I have no intration of holding her accountable. As for the rumors about Ms. Summer stealing my boyfriend, that’s all in the past, Let’s not bring it up again.”
The post set the internet ablaze.
Susan claimed the drowning was just un accident and that she wasn’t going to pursue the matter. In doing so, she subtly confirmed that Estelle had indeed pushed her into the lake.
And in her final statement, she merely said that the matter was in the past. She didn’t actually refute the tumors. This indirectly admitted that Estelle was a homewrecker
