Julian’s expression was cold. His sharp gaze cut straight toward Estelle like a blade.
Susan quickly grabbed his arm. “Jules, don’t blame Ms. Summer.. It wasn’t her fault. I just lost my balance.”
Seeing this, Tobias rushed over in a panic, “Ms. Susie, are you okay?”
Susan forced a weak smile. “Tintine”
But before she could finish her sentence, she collapsed
Julian didn’t spare Estelle another glance. He scooped Susan into his arms and strode toward the car. Tobias followed closely behind them. Neither of them looked back at Estelle, not even once.
Estelle watched their retreating figures. It felt like something cold and heavy had settled deep within her, dragging her down into the unknown. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths to try and steady herself.
Then, she left, stepping away with trembling feet.
Estelle had assumed that Sean was difficult to handle. Michael was paying her such a ridiculous amount of money, after all.
Tat after spending just one day with him, she realized that he was shockingly easy to take care of. He wasn’t picky about food and ate whatever she made without complaint. He was obedient, quiet, and never caused trouble.

That night, after coaxing Sean to sleep, Estelle’s phone suddenly buzzed. She picked it up, and Zara’s frantic voice came through the line. “Essie, what are you doing right now? Have you checked the news?”
Estelle gently closed Sean’s bedroom door before responding in a hushed tone, “I just got him to sleep. What’s wrong?”

After hanging up, Estelle pulled up the trending news other phone. She had always been a private person. Even after five years of marriage to Julian, she had never appeared with him at public events
