Chapter 19
Over the years, Estelle had spent less than ten thousand dollars on herself.
she had been planning to open a studio with Zane. Julian had frozen her card, and she required a substantial amount of startup capital. There was no way she could let Zane be the only one funding it while she contributed nothing but effort.
With that thought, she looked at Michael and asked, “Mr. Cooper, what exactly do you need me to do?”
Michael’s lips curved into a satisfied smile. “I’m usually busy with work, I don’t have much time to spend with him, misa…
He paused slightly before asking, “What’s your name?”
“Extelle Summer.”
“Ms. Summer, your job is simple. If he stays at your place, you’ll be responsible for taking him to and from kindergarten, cooking for him, and keeping him company when he rests.
He continued lazily, “Of course, if you want to take him to an amusement park, summercamp, or even on a trip somewhere, that’s fine too. It’s up to you to amange it. I’ll cover all expenses separately.”
Zara’s eyes nearly turned green with envy.
Paid vacation? This was too good to be truel
Estelle’s gaze flickered slightly. “He has to stay at my place?”
Michael raised an eyebrow “What’s wrong? Were you hoping to stay at my place instead?
“I wouldn’t mind, but you’re still pretty young. I’d hate for your husband or boyfriend to get the wrong idea.”
Estelle hadn’t even considered that. Now that he mentioned it, it would be a bad look on her to live in his house, given that they were about the same age. Besides, his wife might be unwilling to see another woman living with her husband.
After a brief pause, she decided to ask, “Does Sean’s mother agree to this arrangement?”
Michel stayed silent for a few seconds. “His mother has passed away.”
Estelle immediately apologized, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine,” he replied, his tone indifferent. “It happened a long time ago.”
Estelle lowered her gaze and looked at Sean again, this time with a hint of sympathy. She nodded and glanced at Michael. “Aren’t you worried that I might mistreat
Michael’s voice was deep and smooth, filled with an overwhelming confidence that left no room for doubt. “My son? Who would dare mistreat him?”
Fair enough
One look at Michael was enough to tell one that he wasn’t an ordinary person. Anyone who dared to hurt his child would be asking for death
Besides, it fir was willing to let her take Sean home, he would definitely arrange for people to keep an eye on ber. The conditions he offered were tempting, but this wasn’t exactly easy money. Still, Estelle had nothing to hide, so she was! worried about being monitored
Estelle asked, “When do I start?”
“Right now.” Michael glanced at his watch
“I have to leave for an urgent business trip. I’ll be back by the weekend. Until then, you’ll be responsible for Sean Any issues, Ms. Summer? If not, I’ll be heading
“just one.” Estelle suid, looking down at quiet, little Seatt
“I can tell his health isn’t great. Are there any dietary restrictions or special precautions I should be aware of?“
Michael’s eyebrows lifted slightly, sugulsed “You kuw medicine?”
“I studied alternative medicine for a few years I have some experience with childhood deficiencies.”

She paused for a moment before continuing, “I don’t know much about Sean yet, Could you have his many put together a document listing his daily preferences and habits?”
Michael’s expression subtly changed. His gaze, once different and lazy, sharpened ever so slightly. For the first time since they met, he truly looked at her like he was re–evaluating something.
Estelle tensed under his stare, startled. “Mr. Cooper, did I… say something wrong?” she asked instinctively.
