Chapter 16
Inside the private room, Zachary was animatedly gesturing as he spoke to Luther and Susan
“I knew it. She had time to rum off and mess with some guy but couldn’t be bothered to make your medicinal meals! Just watch, Susan. Jules isn’t going to let that housewite off the book!”
Susan was about to say something when the door suddenly swung open.
Julian walked in, his face completely expressionless. He had always been good at concealing his emotions and keeping his thoughts unreadable. But for some reason, Susan couldn’t shake the feeling that he was in a bad mood.
She asked, softly, “jules, has Ms. Summer calmed down? She must have gone home to take care of Tobias now, right?”
Julian’s lips pressed into a thinline. “No,”
Susan’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Ms Summer didn’t go home for Tobias?–
She bit her lip as if making a difficult decision. “Jules. maybe i should apologize to Ms. Summer? Tobias is still young. He needs his mother. No matter what happens between us as adults, we shouldn’t let it affect a child. He’s innocent in all thisTM
Zachary rolled his eyes “ch, please! We all know what she’s trying to do. She’s using Tobias as leverage against Jules! That woman is ruthless, using even her child to manipulate him. She’s a disgrace to women everywhere!”
Luther cut him off with a sigh. “Zach, that’s enough”
“Did I say something wrong?” Zachary scoffed. “Look at what Estelle’s been up to! She’s married and has a child, yet. That’s cheating, plain and simple!
she’s out at a bar looking for some man?
‘It’s no wonder Tobias is starting to dislike her even more. What kind of mother does this? Jules has been way too lenient with her. He has spoiled her! “She sits at home all day doing nothing, swiping his card as she pleases, but it’s still not enough for her! Now, she wants to take his money and spoil another man!” Zachary suddenly seemed to think of something and tomed to Julian. “Jules, it’s easy to deal with this kind of woman. Freeze her cards, I guarantee she won’t last three days before she comes crawling back to apologize!”
After running into Julian and Susan, Estelle’s good mood was completely ruined.
she was just about to leave when her phone suddenly vibrated. She glanced at the screen and saw that it was a bank alert. Her secondary card had been trozen she stated at the message fora second. Then, realization dawned.
julian had cut off her access to his money.
For the past few years, she had been at home taldag care of Tobias, so she had no personal income. All of her expenses had been covered using the secondary cand linked to Julian’s account.

Of course, she had her own savings before their marriage. It wasn’t a small amount, but in a family! Estelle had never insisted on using, Julian’s money. But their roles had been clear from the start—she handled the home, he handled the finances.
1 had been a fair division of responsibility, so she had ever seen anything wrong with spending ins money-
Now, staring at the notification on her screen, she sneered in her heart. It seemed jul had finally started trying to control her.
Estelle looked at her phone and headed back toward the private rooms. Suddenly, something ! bumped into her legs
She instinctively looked down. It was a little boy who was no older than five or six. He was stumugly beautiful, with delicate features and big, dark eyes as clear as black gemstones But his complexion was naturally pale.
In an instant, Estelle’s medical training kicked in.
One glance and she could tell that he was anrinic. He also had poor digestion and a slow metabolism. This was a child who had likely been sack since birth.
The little boy suddenly spoke
“You bumped into me,” he said seriously, “You have to take responsibility.
Estelle was stunned, momentarily caught off guard. Then, she crouched down so that she was at eye level with him.
“Sweetheart, are you feeling wwell?”
The little boy lowered his head and said nothing
Estelle glanced around but didn’t see his parents nearby
“Sweetlirart, what’s your name?” she asked softly “Wheje ate your parents?”
The little boy finally lifted his gaze and looked at her again. Then, he repeated, “You bumped into me. You have to take responsibility.”
