Zayn looked up and frowned. “Tina? This place was hundreds of miles from Kitmore City. What is she doing here?‘ Zayn thought about Tina’s recent whereabouts. She seemed to be everywhere.
He pushed himself up with both hands. Just as he was about to get up, he heard a loud thud. Tina tripped. Her body fell straight forward, and her face hit a tree trunk that had collapsed. She let out an ear–deafening scream.
Zayn was speechless. He facepalmed as he thought, “This novel writer won’t be disfigured from the fall, will she?‘
Zayn got up and was about to walk over to help Tina, but the latter reacted quickly and got up almost instantly. She pinched her bleeding nose with one hand and took off her glasses with the other.
She looked left and right and strode forward. Zayn walked to her side and was about to greet her when she shouted “Zayn!” and rushed past him.
She grabbed Jaden who had just arrived and asked nervously, “Are you alright? “I saw you in a wheelchair. Did you break your leg?”
Jaden was confused.
‘Seriously?‘ Zayn was sort of teed off. He reached out a hand, clasped it on the top of Tina’s head, and turned her head around. “I’m here.”
Tina exclaimed and narrowed her eyes. After carefully sizing him up for more than ten seconds, she broke into an embarrassed smile. “Sorry, I broke my glasses and can’t see clearly.”
After saying that, she explained, “However, my short–sightedness is less than 700 degrees. It’s not very high, I suppose. It’s just that I’m used to wearing glasses and couldn’t adjust in such a short time. Sorry for mistaking him for you.
“Cut to the chase. Why are you here?” Zayn asked.
“I saw it in the group chat last night that terrorists held the production team hostage here. I also saw you going to meet the terrorists alone. I’m very y worried about you.
“So I ran to the station and took the high–speed train in the night to get to Gringger City. I rushed here to find you.”
Jaden couldn’t believe that Tina was so concerned about Zayn
Zayn didn’t assume that Tina had feelings for him. “Why are you worried about me?” he asked.
Tina said matter–of–factly, “You’re the male lead I’ve chosen for my work. What if something happens to you and you can’t film anymore? Who’s going to be the male lead of my story?”
‘I knew it. Why would a girl suddenly appear and care so much about Zayn.‘ Jaden had a short moment of revelation.
Zayn said firmly, “Even if nothing happens to me, I won’t be able to play the male lead of your novel. Besides, what can you do here?”

you “I don’t know what I can do here.” Tina looked at him and said, “But what if someone pointed a know? Maybe if I saw it, I could shout to remind you or distract the bad guy and make him miss his aim.” The corner of Zayn’s eyes twitched. “Your imagination is too out of touch with reality.” Jaden managed to understand what was going on between them. He coughed lightly. “Zayn, aren’t you going to tell me who this lady is?”
People were passing by, and Jaden felt that it was better for them not to talk about that here.

Zayn didn’t really want to introduce Tina, but since she was already there, it would be impolite if he didn’t. “Tina Tate, a novelist. She wanted me to play the male lead in her work, but I rejected her. Also, she’s a friend of Maria’s.”

After Jaden knew the story, he greeted Tina politely, “Hello, I’m Zayn and Maria’s eldest brother, Jaden. Nice to meet you.”
“Oh, I know you. You’re Luna Carter’s boyfriend!” Tina was so excited that she shrieked. She opened her myopic eyes wide and leaned close to Jaden’s face to see him better. “Brandon, you’re absolutely fetching. I wonder if I can add you to my book.”
Her face was almost touching Jaden’s.
Zayn quickly stretched out a hand and placed his palm between her face and Jaden’s. “Your nose is still bleeding. You’d better get a doctor to look at it now.”
Tina pressed her face into his palm. The warm blood from her nose blotched Zayn’s palm, making him feel itchy. Jaden took out a clean towel and handed it to Tina. “My sister, Athena, is over there. She practices medicine. Come with us and meet her.”
Tina took the towel and thanked him profusely. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much!”
Covering her nose with the towel, she followed Zayn and Jaden. After a few steps, they heard a thud as she hit another tree. She seemed to be in a daze as she spun in place a few rounds.
Zayn was about to roll his eyes. ‘She’s like the bimbo female lead of some brainless sitcom. How is she able to fall or hit a tree at the drop of a hat?‘
Tina was also extremely embarrassed. “I’m sorry, it’s too dark. My eyes are still not used to this dimness, so I can’t see clearly.”
Zayn shook his head. He took a few steps forward and grabbed her arm. “Come with me.”
“Thank you.” Tina followed him quietly for a while before she thought of something. “Aren’t your legs crippled? How can you still walk?”
Zayn replied coldly, “My legs aren’t crippled. Only the soles of my feet are injured. It’s hard for me to walk.”
“Good to hear that.” Tina heaved a sigh of relief. “If your legs are really crippled and you can’t stand up, I’ll have to change Victor’s persona. Come to think about it, a wheelchair–bound CEO, who can’t be cured, could be quite an exciting character to write about.”
Zayn pretended that he didn’t hear anything. On the roof of the residential building across the river, Joy held a telescope. After seeing what the Donovan family had done, she turned around and left.
“They’re not an average family. It’s best not to be in opposition to them,” Joy muttered.
